And no, I've never listened to Frank Zappa or Steve Vai, although I should.

Also, does anybody have the link to the page with the top 100 guitar solos of all time?

I just heard that song on Much Music (canada) and it said the bands name was Avengefold Seven or somthing, thats proof that Mtv doesn't want people listening to metal.

Im The One, by Van Halen. I find it hilarious, he comes out of a really nice solo and they start doing that.. bop boppa shoobie doo wah thing, I think its a style of music, just forgot what its called.

Hot For Teacher is probably some of Eddie's and Alex's best work, Alex used 4 bass drums for the intro.

Best solo of the Hagar era, Right Now.

White Summer/Black Mountain Side is a good instrumental/solo too.

I wouldn't say I have a favorite solo, but a damn good one is Fool In The Rain, damn good song overall. I like the solo because its going through a Blue Box, like 2 octaves down, really fits in with the rest of the song.

I think Stairway to Heaven has a great solo. Most of Zeppelin's solo's are very well done. Freebird is an ok solo, very repetitive. A lot of Metallica's solos are good too. But Satrani is also very good. :)

That one and probably a few different Buckethead solos. The solo's from Elephant Ghost and Buckethead with Bucket of Bernie Brains are amazing. I'm also gonna throw in a vote for Mahavishnu Orchestra's Dream.
