Well, what recent CD's do you have that you think will never get old and remain classics 20, 30, or even more years down the road.
1.) Matchbox Twenty - *debut album* Yourself Or Someone Like You (1996)
........had hits such as Push, Realworld, 3 AM, many more.
2.) Third Eye Blind - self-titled debut album (1997)
........had hits like Semi-Charmed Life, Jumper, many more.
So, which albums are not only kick-ass, but will become timeless classics that you will listen to till when you get old and grey?

ok, Matchbox 20 and Third Eye Blind I'll give you b/c they have a really strong fan base and you can hear it anywhere. Linkin Parks cd is iffffffffy...............but where i lose it is The Used. Are you fucking serious. They're fucking retarded, recycled garbage that have no talent and can't play/sing for shit, im bitching you out. Deal with it.

LMAO! You've gotta be shitting me? You think Linkin' Park is gonna be considered classic? In 20 or 30 years, if some kid calls Linkin' Park classic rock, I will bitch slap them. As for the rest, they all suck too.

And then they will kick the shit out of you and toss you back into your wheelchair.
Then I will walk over in my Stephen Hawking scooter and type out "Oopy, is your Mom hot?"
Good times, they will be.

Then I will run you over. If I was in a wheelchair barely able to walk in 30 years, you'd be a fucking veggie. I would just toss you on the ground.
Good times, they will be.

Madmartigan, I get what you mean. Everyone's putting out the same redundant shit these days. But that's why I also said that they were maybes. I know Linking Park and The Used won't be classics, but I wanted to have more than 2 albums, so I put them in. Go ahead and bitch me out. I'll also cover my nuts...take your best shot.
Actually, you can cross out the last 2 albums I put on there. They're not good enough. But MB20 and 3EB still stand bitches.
Oopyman, what the hell? Put in your own ideas if you don't like mine, or are you that big of an unoriginal assfuck that you can't?

I'm in a Stephen fucking Hawking wheelchair, bitch. If anything, I will type out "LOL" and the three 500 watt speakers will sound out a giant, scary as hell laugh. Then you will shit your Depends.

Please get the fuck outta here with linkin park. Jesus Christ those guys suck balls. They will be classic pieces of shit someday. Those cds you have listed do not in any way deserve to be called classics.
Miles Davis- Kind Of Blue
That is a classic.

Great CDs don't come out anymore. How far back are you going? None within a few years.

Very true Oopyman. I went back to '96 and '97 for mine.
BigMatttheHobo, how bout you get the fuck out of here with Miles Davis. 3EB and MB20 have more right to be called classics than Miles cock-sucking Davis. His music might be OK, but everyone's already forgotten him...so the hell with him. I judge classics by my love for it along with album sales. Miles Davis lacks both to me.
BlackEmporer, why even reply if that's all you have to say? Say something constructive or STFU. You say mine suck, well how about yours?
Any other CD's? C'mon damnit.

I agree, music is shit these days. All bands I think are classic have been that way, for years. And most of them are either broken up, dead, or in rehab.

the only reason i say that the matchbox 20 and 3EB album will be considered "classic" rock is b/c of peter frampton. He's considered classic rock.

Wow did that guy really call Miles Davis a cock sucker? Wow, Miles Fucking Davis invented being cool, I guarantee he got more ass in a weeks time then you will in your entire life. Suck on that, you cock.
You are really the most ignorant person I have ever seen on this board, and this includes riki, seb, and many others before your time. No fucking way he has been forgotten. Maybe he has with the stupid fuck teenagers who run around listening to mtv shit whining about life. STFU, you know nothing, and I am glad you don't like Miles, You don't deserve him.
Anybody who knows anything about good music knows about Miles Davis. You are a little queef who doesn't know shit about anything.
"Kind Of Blue" is the best selling jazz record ever, how do you feel about that? You don't know shit.
You really deserve to die.

Hey sid, you now have a friend in my bitch-house.
Enjoy me ripping you up on all of your opinions, for the rest of your time on the board. Now, go back to listening to Rob cock-sucking Thomas, bitch.

Am I misunderstanding Mossberg's post or did he REALLY say that Third Eye Blind and Matchbox fucking Twenty are classics, but Miles Davis isn't?
I must be misunderstanding it somehow. I find it hard to believe that someone would actually say something so idiotic.
Mossberg
03-03-2004, 09:04 PM
Droog, I said they might be classics in the future.
To everyone else, holy shit. It's only my opinion. If I don't like him, who the fuck cares? YOU?? Why?
And BigMattTheHobo, I happen not to like Jazz too much...mostly because I was a drummer in a jazz band and hate the living shit out of anything jazz oriented now. Does this really make me "ignorant"?. I've been there, done that, and not interested anymore. It's not Miles, it's jazz in general. I gave my opinion, so I'll stick with it. Also, I'm 20, and I'm not an MTV-watching teenager. If you think that people not liking Miles makes them ignorant teenagers, you have some growing up to do yourself.
BrainKandy, Sid is gay. I'm not. Jesus cock-loving Christ, my opinion on one god damn thing made you pissed. haha. I love eBaums.

Hey, cool! I got both. :) I have all 3 albums from 3EB, and the first 2 from MB20, with the 3rd on my list.
All I can come up with right now is Coldplay - A Rush of Blood to the Head and maybe Audioslave's self titled debut.

I dunno if sid is gay, but ypsidan04 is not. And ypsidan04 just happens to be one of the few people (maybe the only) who agrees with your taste of music. So maybe you should think twice before talking to me like that. You can use as many friends as you can get.

I don't know Miles Davis, haven't a clue. But because you like him, there's no way he can be a cock sucker. Mossberg really crossed the line there.

What do you mean my classic?? That is waaaaay too hard. What one considers classic may be shit to another. Name some "classic" CDs so I get an idea about what the hell you are talking about. Things I consider classics: older Iron Maiden CDs, Pink Floyd CDs, Led Zep CDs, old Motorhead CDs, Venom CDs, old Slayer CDs, old Motley Crue CDs, Black Sabbath CDs, certain Pantera CDs, old Anthrax CDs, Metallica CDs, old Morbid Angel CDs, Napalm Death CDs, old Dimmu Borgir CDs, and alot more... but that is just because I am a metalhead and I love Heavy metal, Black metal, thrash metal, and death metal.

No, I hate them. I hate most bands with female singers... their voices piss me off... Evanescence, Otep and Lacuna Coil suck. Then only good band with a female singer is Arch Enemy because she growls and screams and doesn't have an irritating high pitched voice.

I really enjoyed (still enjoying actually) that one.
Tool - Lateralus
Greend Day - Dookie
I know it's a bit old, but still really good
Stone Temple Pilots - can't remember the albulm name
A bit old too, I know
Dave Mathews band - can't remember either
not my favorite music, but I think it will stand the test of time

That's okay. But you know, I'd say maybe a quarter or a third of the lyrics are sung by the male backup vocalist - unlike Evanescence where she sings 98% of the time. Never heard Otep, I'll have to check em out.

You mean their debut album, Core? I have that, and was going to list it, but changed my mind. Evanescence did a cover of their song Sex Type Thing, btw - but I haven't heard it yet.

I don't care for Metallica, but from what I hear, that's far from their best album. Sales have been pretty slow.

We all know sales are down because the metalli-cops have let the album slip onto the net and greedy little kids are stealing it as we speak !!!

I believe that the Offspring album "Americana" was amazing. I used to listen to that all day long over and over. All the songs on that cd were really good. I think i'll whip that back out and listen. *Goes through his collection of cd's*
P.S. I agree with the Dave Mathews band being a classic. I love their cd "Some devil". It's amazing. The song "Stay or leave" is I think, their best.

Faith No More- The Real Thing. With songs like "Epic" and "Falling to Pieces" this album pretty much started the rock/rap fusion, not counting novelty songs like Run-DMC and Aerosmith doing "Walk This Way". Unlike the shitheads that are doing it now, they were talented musicians. But the album wasn't just rap/rock. There were also great more traditional rock songs like "From Out of Nowhere" and "Underwater Love", a great thrash/speed metal song ("Surprise, You're Dead"), a great instrumental ("Woodpecker From Mars), and even a kickass cover of Black Sabbath's "War Pigs". If you don't have this album, get it immediately.
