View Full Version : AIM registry virus thing.

There's this virus (I'll just call it a virus, not sure exactly what it is), that's going around various messangers such as AIM and yahoo. What it does, is it adds in infinite sort of loop in your registry that sends a message through your screen name to people you're talking to, with a luring message leading to a link to download the corrupt file. Some examples of what it would say is:

this girl is crazy! come look! Link removed by caveman

found your picture! is this you? Link removeed by caveman

etc...

My friend, and countless other friends of mine, were dumb enough to download this executable file. It's bothering them, but I think it's bothering me even more. I recently found on a website saying where this is in the registry, and I deleted it off of my friend's registry, but it kept on re-creating itself.

If someone knows what I'm talking about, and knows the solution, please answer my plea.

Yeah that happened to me a couple weeks ago.What I downloaded was a virus though.Good thing I have a good virus scanner

when someone sends u that just say somin like "is this a virus" or somin like that back and if they respond "no" then its not because they meant to send the virus

don't download motherfucking exe's or pif's from friends even if they want to send them to you.

Like I said, it's not my computer that has it.
