Something Awful has a loyal audience. I don't know exactly what was taken, but I DO know for a fact that not everything on their site is original material. The various gaming communites I belong to submit practically all the content they have, and while they do have some original stuff, a good chunk of it is just ripped off from somewhere else. Even their rants are inspired by various maddox-like websites.
The fact that they resorted to hypocritical internet-guerilla tactics is pathetic. Take it up with the man, not the forums. This makes SA look like a fucking myg0t clone. Is that what they want to be? Who knows. Frankly, I don't even really care.

Well if that's true, I don't understand why LOWTAX would give Ebaum premission to host his images and then complain about them being on their.. that doesen't make any sense. Look ebaum doesen't ask for permission to host content, niether do many sites, so it's standard practice, to say that he CONTACTS THE CREATOR, is just factually inaccurate.. if you're going to defend ebaum, do your research, your weakening your case by spewing things that aren't true.

There is NO way ebaum makes only $2 an hour. I make almost $2 an hour, off of 8000 hits a day. What does this site get? Like 1000000? w/e.
BTW personally I believe new grounds has a better community than this site.
Hence the reason why I go there most of the time.

Anyway.....I hear both sides of the argument. The ebaums: "hosted" does not mean "created by." Now that's very much true......the only problem with that is that there was an effort to cover up the authors/creators with that mark. Now it would be better if this mark was added somewhere that did not cover the name. Also....why does ebaums need that stupid mark anyway???? It's obvious that it is hosted on ebaumsworld.I mean it's on the website, you don't need a fuckin water mark to tell you that but it does decieve you. It gives the impression that it is an original work of the website/creator (that's what watermarks are for....seriously) I can't understand why people cannot see both sides of teh story. I mean, only idiots woudl be pissed if their work is seen by millions but at the same time they don't know the creator.... whatever....that's life, it sucks sometimes and we will come to terms.

You don't need permission to post somebody else's content on your website. The entire Internet is public domain. That's the legal problem they're having with porn, paper writing sites, etc. Because different countries have different laws but the Internet is univsersal- which law do you uphold? It's nice to give credit where it's due, don't get me wrong. My theory is, if you don't want it ripped off, don't put it online where everyone can get to it.

On a side note.....I find the main website pretty useless. You find everything on the site on the ebaums forums (unaltered) before its added to the site.

Funny how at Newgrounds that if you make fun of ebaumsworld there you will most likely get in the blue pretty fast (and thats really good).
I wrote a reivew on that saying that it was good and such, but also mentioned the invasion and saying thanks to the laughs, and about if you ask about getting removed it gets removed and etc.
After I went back the aithor responded with
"No he doesn't take it off The only reason it got taken off was because we invaded it" So does anyone know how long they really sent an email to him and how long it was before they the invaded? Because i say it was around 5-10 minutes
