In your opinion, post either good covers or bad covers of original songs. I personally love all of the covers of Come Together by The Beatles.

And a cover that sucked fucking ass was Another Brick in The Wall by Korn. A classic now destroyed.

Oh shit! Forgot about that one. It was Lil John or some shit. My god it is one of the worst songs I've ever heard. Then again, rap just sucks in general.

So What-Metallica. BTW who was the group who sung the original version? I've heard it, but never could find out who it was.

Miles Davis has a fucking sick song called So What, but I doubt that's what you're looking for.

Ha ha, no it definitely wasn't Miles Davis, but thanks for the info. It was some British rock band that sounded like a one hit wonder and never returned. But shit if I know.

"The Anti-Nowhere League" did the original release, off the "Fuck Around the Clock" album.

Best cover is Death doing Painkiller. Hands down.

My favorite "Come Together" cover is Michael Jackson's...

Worst cover ever would have to go to Candy Flip's version of "Strawberry Fields Forever" though...

The 90's were the home of shitty bands singing classics...

Best= Got to be the cover of the NIN song, "hurt" by Johnny Cash. Perfectly sums up the feel of his last album.

Worst= The all Saints version of the classic Red Hot Chilli Peppers, "under the bridge". Anyone who thinks that it is not too bad deserves to have their ears cut off.

Worst - Die Die My Darling by Metallica (originally by Misfits)

Best - There are good covers? Just kidding, I think Johnny Cash's cover of Hurt was pretty damn good.

Think its safe to say there are far more bad covers than good. Avril sang Chop Suey? That just sounds nasty. I refuse to listen to it.

Worst - All of those covers that Korn did over Pink Flyod. Flyod should NOT be cover none of their songs, there is no way to match up to them.

Best - Not sure.. I'll think of one later.

Best. Head Like a Hole by AFI or The Goonies R Good Enough by New Found Glory.
EDIT: I'll have to add Children of Bodom's 'Oops' to this list. It's a stroke of genius to turn something so tremendously terrible into something worth listening to.

Worst. Well, I hadn't heard the Avril cover of Chop Suey, and when I read all these posts I thought, "It can't be THAT bad..." I was absolutely wrong. It is not only the worst cover, it is the worst song I've ever heard.
I hate Avril more than ever now.

I hear that Celine Dion did a cover of an AC/DC song.

Pretty fucking sad.

Best cover I've heard is probably Turn the Page by Metallica (Bob Seger). Worst is probably... Oh, I don't know. Let me hear some iTunes Music Store track samples of some tributes.

...Hm... Oh, shit. I'm listening to Back In Black on a Hip-Hop Tribute. It's pretty shitty... Not to mention funny as hell.

I'm not even going to bother trying the Metallica Hip-Hop Tribute.

Best covers -
Dazed and confused - by Gov't mule and the Alman Brothers Band (originally by Led Zeppelin).

wish you where here - Radiohead (originally done by Pink Floyd).

House of the rising sun - Eric clapton, bob dylan also did a good one (no idea who did it first).

Bad covers -
Behind blue eyes - Limp bizket (originally done by The Who).

Baba O' Riley - Nirvana (bands like to butcher Who songs).

I actually like that one. They shouldn't have changed "Deadhead" to "Black Flag," that was stupid, but otherwise it was a good example of a cover remaining faithful to the original without sounding bland.

If I'm not mistaken, I think Maynard wanted that song to sound as if Lennon was alive today, but worn down by the current condition of this world.

Actually, Elton John sang most of that cover, *Axl* just sang like the last 3 verses or something.

Best Cover for me would be Guns n' Roses - Live and let die, originally Paul Mccartney I believe. oh and the aforementioned Bohemian Rhapsody cover.

Worst would have to be Imagine- Perfect Circle, completely butchered the song. I read that Blink 182 did a cover of Imagine and Aaron Carter too. Haven't heard it but it probably sucks considering they suck.
Also I think Motley Crue re-recorded Home Sweet Home and totally killed it although I'm not sure it was really them but it did sound like Vince.
Also Sheryl Crow's Sweet Child O' Mine. It makes me want to punch her in the face.

Dolly Parton covered, no, butchered Stairway To Heaven. It was a down home redneck jam. It had banjos and everything, bullshit.

Pretty much everything Van Halen touched turned to gold. Above all though:
You Really Got Me, which was done by the Kinks. I heard that they cut the paper stuff on the speakers to get a distorted tone, it really didn't do much.

George Michael's Faith covered by Limp Bizkit was some bullshit. When it came out, everyone I knew liked it and bought it. I lost a lot of friends.

Orgy doing Blue Monday was well produced.

Mad World done by Gary Jules on the Donnie Darko soundtrack is pretty incredible.
