Traded to the Sharks for three sucky hockey players, good move by the Bruins I guess. They weren't winning with Thornton anyways So I guess it don't matter.

That was a terrible trade by Boston. They wern't winning, yeah, but trading your best player isn't going to help.

They did it because Sullivan and O'Connell didn't like Thorton's style of play, they thought he wasn't aggressive enough or something. The least they could do was get another good goal scorer for him. They play Ottawa tonight a high scoring team. So who the fuck is going to score for the Bruins! NOBODY! Fuck this whole organization lmao. I can't wait for tonight's game the boo birds will be out, unless they win.

Yup, Boston officially got screwed over. If they wanted to trade their franchise player, they could have at least got a better deal than that. A good defensemen and 2 average forwards is what they got for one of the best players in the league. Now Boston's first line center is Zhamnov LOL.

Yeah, i can't understand why they got rid of him... Damn.

Maybe they did it out of respect. They figure he deserves a shot at a Stanley Cup so they traded him in the hopes he would get a shot. You know, like they did with Ray Bourque and Bill Guerin.:)

Maybe but San Jose is playing just as bad as the Bruins.

Yeah they look like shit. I don't think Thornton is going to help them too much immediately but he he will definately be a good addition down the stretch.

Yea possibly they have been going to the playoffs the past few years, just doing nothing once they got there.

Ah ha now I know why the Bruins tried to get Mike Modano in the off season. But he decided to stay with Dallas.

Wow not what I expected at all, shutting out the best offensive team in the league. Best performance of the season!

Eh, teams tend to do well when they have new players in the line up because they're pumped up. Give it a few games and the bruins will be back to their normal ways, lol

Yeah I was shocked when i heard the news as well... you're trading your franchise player, who got 101 points 2 seasons ago, for three average players? I mean sturm's a 20-goal scorer, got some speed, but he's no thorton. Primeau is a 2nd/3rd line grinder, while stuart is a #3 or 4 defencemen...

They produced 3 points tonight against Ottawa...but only time will tell the ramifications of the trade. Im eager to see how thorton does with the sharks, him and marleau on the top line maybe? They're fairly strong up the middle now, just need to work on defence now I suppose...as they are all young.

I'd say san jose won with this trade by far...boston could have got ALOT more than they did for thorton...maybe they should have thrown his name out there to other teams and received better bids? Oh well, hopefully the bruins will fall, makes it easier for the leafs in the long-run;)

You dumb f*cks...[/sarcasm]

Marco Sturm is a great player...his performance in his first game for Boston shows that...

Brad Stuart is a great D-Man, one of the Shark's best, who is very solid on defense and also has quite the last minute scoreing touch.

Wayne Primeau is a excelet skater, the Shark's best by the way. He has size and heart that make him a great guy to have on the bench. He adds heart, toughness, and a some good scoreing to the team.

Joe Thorton is...well...Joe Thorton. Every one knows him and knows hes great.

Bruins gain some excelent depth that they were desperate for and San Jose gains a very needed star that can put the puck in the net every night.

3 for 1 is always going to be looked upon as a bad trade. By those who know the players and their skills they feel they are really giving something up. Those who dont know them assume they arnt that good and that Boston got screwed.

I'm a bruins fan myself, and Thornton wasn't pulling his weight this season, and he is supposed to be the leader. They didn't do too bad with getting stuart and primeau and esspecially sturm, strum has good potential and actaully got a goal and an assist in his first game with the bruins, with the bruins winning 3-0

Bruins have Zhamnov and Bergeron for top centers and Murray, Samsonov and Strum for top wings. With Sleger and Boynton, Boyes, and Leetch for top defence.

Thornton will be playing with his cousin Scott Thornton on the first line. I get to see them play the leafs tomorrow, I'll see how it goes

Edit: They beat the Sabres 5-0 tonight, Thornton got two assists.

Bruins are pretty weak up the centre...zhamnov as your number one centre? lol.

Most of you dont even know the Sharkies they sent over, it is a fair trade because both sides got what they needed to make them better, but then looking at that San Jose got the better player. Its a even and good trade, but San Jose got a better talent.

Tucker1616

Boston did get some decent players. Sturm is decent, Stuart's a very good defencemen, and Primeau is an alright 4th liner I guess. But they will miss that star centre, they don't really have that go to guy anymore and I think it will hurt them in the long run.

And Ulic, I have a signed Rob Blake card ;)

Both teams won, with a shutout no less, the first game after the trade. Pretty good trade for both teams,so far.

:D Nice

Yeah, I'm an Avs fan in California, so I catch a lot of Sharks games and I'm a fan. I really want to see both Boston and San Jose play better now, because I think they both got something they needed. I know it hurts Boston fans more, but it was also pretty bad for San Jose with losing three of the fans favorite players, but then SJ did seem to get something that could put all of that aside.

Well I have Alex Tanguay's AAA hockey card signed, before he played for the Halifax Mooseheads when i lived in Nova Scotia. Also have Jean Sabastian Giguere's rookie card from Halifax and Ladislav Nagy's

Joe Thornton may not have looked like he did alot but he had 33 points in 23 games with Boston this season.I dont know if the trade was good or bad I just know 2 of the guys who were traded and i think that Boston might be screwed unless they got some young talent in the trade.
