In your opinions, what do all of you think is the BEST song ever? I know that this question is kind of hard to answer, but I would like to see everyone's taste in music. Please, no talking shit and arguing over the songs, just simply put the song name, artist, then a little about it.

This is a hard question for me, but I think that one of the best songs there is is "Rock the Casbah" by The Clash. If you are open minded about music and like the 80's you would probably like it. I don't think its the very best song ever created, but its one of em.

You really consider a system of a down song The Best song ever?. I mean, i like other bands besides the beatles, but period, the best song ever has got to be Hey Jude.

Maybe "Learning to fly" by Tom petty might be number 2

Oh I see, System of a Down isn't one of my favorites but I listen to them occasionally, and I like the Prison Song. Hey Jude is a good song too. I like "I wanna hold your hand" by the Beatles.
I will always like The Clash a lot, they were inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame I think last year.

the long version on electric ladyland, not the slight return one.

Well’ the night I was born
Lord I swear the moon turned a fire red
The night I was born
I swear the moon turned a fire red
Well my poor mother cried out "lord’ the gypsy was right!"
And I seen her’ fell down right dead
’Have mercy’

I could never pick a fav. song, but I would say pretty much anything from the Red Hot Chili Peppers kicks ass.. I'm sure there are better things out there, but I grew up listening to them... and Anthony is from my home town... It goes to show that you can get out of here somehow...

I'd also have to say that there are some kick ass songs by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers out there, but I could never pick a favorite

"So What" by Miles Davis.

I have no words to describe the greatness of this song. But it gives me a musical induced orgasm each time I hear it.

By far the greatest song ever made.

GO BUY "KIND OF BLUE"!!!!

Would have to be a Bob Marley song. They always cheer me up. No Woman No Cry. Or Is This Love. It's impossible to pick just one.

Hey, sorry. Stacy's Mom sucks. You got it.

I'm not saying its good cause the Grammys thought it was good, I'm saying it's good cause I think its good - and the Grammys is gravy. I've heard of 313 but haven't heard their music. Never heard of the others.

But have you heard of any of these:

Audiovent, Simon Says, Drowning Pool, Seether, Finger Eleven, Edgewater, Chevelle?? I don't just listen to well known bands that are always on cable TV.

Staind is cool, I just got their third album, but they're not my favorite band.

And I like the type of music that they all do. You think that not because they sound the same, but because you don't like that type of music.

Sorry, I was thinking of 311. THAT is a band.

How can you pick one best song? Oh, well. Right now I would have to say Stairway to Heaven or While My Guitar Gently Weeps.

Dogs by Pink Floyd. A seventeen minute masterpiece. I love every second of the song. It's ten minutes into it, and I think the song is about to end. I check the time left in the song on Kazaa, and see there's still 7 more minutes of this. That's happened many times, and that always makes me happy. Incredible lyrics by Waters, and incredible vocals by Gilmour. This song is absolutely perfect.

For best instrumental, I pick Baby Blue Shuffle in D Minor by Pink Floyd. No one here has probably heard that song, but it's amazing. It feels like it's a lot longer than just 4 minutes.

Nice songs man.

God...one song?!?? Christ. I'm stuck between three songs...Some Birds by Sam Roberts, Prague by Damien Rice, or Obstacle 1 by Interpol. I'll have to say Prague though. The way that the soft parts of the song blend with the higher ones is absolutely mind-blowing, and the amount of emotion that he pours into his singing...it's incredible.
