3 men go into a restaurant and after they had finished their meal, the waitor comes over to them with a bill of 30 quid. They all get out 10 pounds each and one guy takes the money to the counter to pay. The waitor says to the guy actaully the bill should hav been £25 so he hands him the 30 quid then the waitor gives him £5 coins back. The guy gives the waitor a £2 tip and splits the last £3 between the 3 of them. so they have now paid £9 each for th meal. 9 times 3 is 27 plus the £2 tip = 29 what happened to the last pound?????????

Theres a flaw in the math. If they get 5 back then you add 25+3 = 28
People try to add 24 + 3 = 27 because they think the bill is split evenly 3 x 8 before they get the money back

You have 3 lots of 9 which is 27. But you DON'T add the £2 from the waiter because THAT'S PART OF THE £27 THAT THEY'VE PAID. You have 27 plus the £3 that they have. That's £30. Anyone who doesn't understand this should be shot.

the CORRECT answer is that the tip is already included in the 9 pounds paid by each person. the math should go thus: 3x9=27, which includes the tip, plus the
three quid they got back. that makes 30 quid.

quid = term for money known only by people who actually HAVE it. sadly, i am not one of those people, but i work for them and occasionally hear things.
