Actually this is not just a comedy site. He also posts news, extreme vids, and other shit like that. I think he was trying to say that we as americans (or canadians) take for grated the things we have, and we even complain about it. The holiday season is a time for sharing with other which is why he posted this now.

because believe it or not, there are some people in third world countries who have never heard of plumbing or electricity, who dont have "dirt floor houses" but have dirt floor straw huts, and for 1 of our homeless, an entire village of people over there are starving, we have homeless shelters and programs to help the needy like the can food drive, toys for tots and habitat for humanity, they have the hope of waiting for a red cross helicopter to come give them some bowls of rice, even our homeless have advantages that they dont, thats why.

In many third world countries they actually have children to help support the family. As weird as it seems, although there are more mouths to feed there are also more people to do work around the farm. The problem is, they see having mass quantities of children as their only solution, and that's making the problem worse. It is easy for us, living here in post industrial juggernauts of countries, to sit here and poke fun at them, call them stupid for having so many children and being so poor. The thing is, most of them honestly have no idea how to fix it, and will probably never fix it because they live in poor countries with no natural resources. No money means no jobs, subsistance living, poverty, and famine. Also, since they have no money nobody really cares about them except charity organizations and those renegade humanists.
The only good solution I can see for these poor people is education. If we teach them that having children is a bad idea, and teach them how to do something other than subsistance farm all their lives, teach them what AIDS means, etc. then they can possibly get out of their lifestyles. Is education for a vast amount of people with no money to pay for it possible? Probably not.
What will probably happen is they will continue to have all those children, half of them with AIDS, then everyone will be dying of that epidemic mixed with famine, and the population will level itself out.
Anyway, my main point was this:
These people are poor, but we can't really do a thing about it but teach them, and thats hard too. :ahhh:

Do you honestly think that the parents get kids so that they can support him with the scarce supplies they have? You have a lot to learn about the world. Did you ever consider that these parents wanted the children to help them out with work? Yes it is a lot more mouths to feed but look at the situation these civilians are in, they are barely getting by life.


My World Issues teacher posted those pictures a week ago in class. They are really disturbing pics but what do we do when we see these pictures in our televisions? we simply change the channel as if it were another fictitious show. These pictures are to show awareness. In order for us to live the way we are today, they have to live like this.

There are two pictures missing from the set and I find them the most hard-hitting in my opinion. Theyre also original high-quality versions, if anyone wants me to upload the rest then ask.

Anyone who thinks the problem is solely "mommy and daddy having too much sex" is blindingly ignorant about the situation in Africa. SgtSilver has already pointed out one of the reasons people have so many children... your children are your only source of support later in life. There are no social programs for seniors, so having a bunch of children and hoping that at least a couple of them will survive to adulthood to take care of you in your old age is the only viable solution.
