So, with the NFL season close to the playoffs, the offseason in the MLB, and we are now finally seeing the real teams in the NHL..so what is the good, bad, and ugly of your favorite teams in the 3?
NFL - Pittsburgh Steelers
The Good - We are fortunate to have playmakers such as Hines Ward, Ben Roethlisberger, and Troy Polamalu, each of them play their parts nearly to perfection
The Bad - Thanks to some injuries early in the season, and a nutless coach, we may be short of the playoffs, not like it would have mattered anyway, we'd lose our first game, unless it was against Cinci.
The Ugly - Our offensive line is sure enough to get whomever it is playing QB...killed. 6 guys let 3 Cinci defenders through the last play of the game against Cinci, as they forced pressure and an incompletion.
MLB - Pittsburgh Pirates
The Good - NEW MANAGEMENT, now that our old pal Lloyd is gone, teams start off fresh with a new manager, and time we have one with intelligence. With the signing of Sean Casey, we are bound to do better at bat with Casey, Bay, Duffy, and Castillo. Also our pitching core is looking a lot better next year. Barring no injuries, we shall have Maholm, Duke, and Perez through the whole season, good rotation there.
The Bad - We still dont have a solid third baseman, catcher, and relief pitcher, which we desperately need. White, Grabow, and Meadows will not get the job done...need to be taking a look at those FA's.
The Ugly - Pirates are stuck in a bad system, that system being, they will ALWAYS SUCK..for 12 years now it's been going on. Every year we say we'll improve, and we dont...thats what I'm afraid of. The other ugly part, we still have pitchers such as Wells and Fogg.. with a combination of 14-29 last season, they need to go.
NHL - Pittsburgh Penguins
The Good - There is no question Sidney Crosby is the future of this franchise, he's good, and theres no other way around it. The FA's we picked up HAVE helped a bit, dispite our record, we have more potential this year then we did last year. Eddie finally realized our best GT was playing in the minor leagues, and finally brought him up for good..
The Bad - These top free agents we picked up havent paid it's dues. Recchi, Palffy, Gonchar...you'd expect points and defense....we're still not getting them.
The Ugly - Our system is meant to be the worst team in the league, or second...it's not failing us. It's embaressing to pick up these FA's and still suck, it seems to me that maybe some new management will help..as long as it stays the same, it doesnt matter who we bring in, we will be bad. Also, our season is over..now is the time we start seeing the real teams of the NHL...and the Penguins have exposed themselves...oh well, theres always the Baby Penguins

New England Patriots
The Good: Tom Brady might be having one of his best seasons, except for one game. Tedy Bruschi making his return, and of course leading the AFC East.
The Bad: No offensive co-ordinator I guess.
The Ugly: The defense, mostly the secondary, and red zone defense.
Boston Bruins
The Good: Umm lol Marco Sturm?
The Bad: Andrew Raycroft and the goaltending.
The Ugly: Joe Thornton is gone, last place in the division.
Boston Red Sox
The Good: David Ortiz, getting Josh Beckett (hopefully)
The Bad: Keith Foulke, not knowing if he can close out games.
The Ugly: Manny Ramirez, either leave or stay!

Nats
Good- We got alfonso and had a great opening season last year.
Bad- New stadium works not looking great

Atlanta Braves
The Good: 14 Straight divisional titles, all be it with a lack of a manager. The strength of their minor league system makes them so deep, and so talented.
The Bad: There is only so far you can go on talent, NLDS's usually. Bobby Cox is overrated and a sad excuse for a manager. A manager is usually supposed to win at least 20 games on his own...Bobby manages to lose at least 10 a season...
The Ugly: Their balance. They have never had a full team. They either dominate with power, or speed offensively. Or they have an excellent pitching staff, or a multi-gold glove winning defense. However, NEVER a combination of the 4.
Duke Blue Devils
The Good: Coaching and recruiting. Everyone that loves basketball, would love to play at Duke. And there is no doubt that Mike Krzyzewski will go down as one of the best coaches in college basketball history. Plain and simple, they are an excellent school to play at...
The Bad: Inside defense and freethrow shooting. No Duke team in the hisotry of the Krzyzewski period, other than the Laettner teams, has shot free throws well. Their all star players have usually been a threat at the line, but other than them, nobody can hit a basket standing still. Their points given up in the paint are always at least twice as much as the rest of the points given up elsewhere...
The Ugly: The Cameron Crazies, though I love them like brothers (and sisters) are complete menaces. Nice people, don't get me wrong. But when they are betwixt the aisles at Cameron Indoor, they will tear you the fuck apart...
The Ohio State Buckeyes
The Good: The fans. There is nothing like a good, clean, honest, Buckeye fan. They love their team no matter what, and hate a Wolverine like their mother was killed by one.
The Bad: Pass D. In the past 10 years, no Buckeye team has had a legit passing defense. They stop the run pretty damn well, but their lack of talent in the backfield (on most occasions), leaves them giving up nearly 2 times as many yards per game through the air than on the ground.
The Ugly: Nothing much I can think of recently...Other than Maurice Clarret...

Oakland Raiders
The good
Kerry Collins was demoted to third string this week. The defense is very much improving and the dline is a force to be reckoned with. Quite a few forced fumbles. Randy Moss and Lamont Jordan. A lot of good younglins.
The bad
Weak tackling in the secondary, and tied for last in the league in interceptions. The oline!
The Ugly
I still have to look at norv turner and kerry collins on the sideline.

St. Louis
St. Louis Cardinals
Good: New Stadium, Getting to the Playoffs, having Pujols, Reggie, and Edmonds making really good plays.
Bad: The fact that we cant finish the season the same as when we started it
St. Louis Rams:
Good: Are you kidding me?
Bad: The whole team, the fact that our head coach wont be back.
St. Louis Blues:
Good: More Fights in a game
Bad: Not as many fans are hear, it's just not the same as 3 years ago.

I'm going to add my college team now
Wisconsin
Good - Great offense, John Stocco is an underrated QB, and Brian Calhoun is one of the big game changing backs in college right now
Bad - Defense, losing that front 4 really hurt
Ugly - Bert Bielema taking over as head coach, I want Barry!

Actually the true fans are the realist, a HOMER is not a true fan, thats just called being a fucking tool...if you are man enough to analyze your team to the truth, you are a REAL fan.

San Fransisco Giants (going into next year)
the good: a very good and young starting rotation (the best in the nl west by far), a very good hitting outfield, great defense, good bullpen, they play in a very weak division and this guy named Barry Bonds plays for them.
the bad: a pretty bad infield (offensively) some injury prone players, a bad manager (Felipe Alou)
the ugly: Edgardo Alfonzo
