I know I can't be the only Penguins fan here, though I'm sure I'm one of the few, but I had to express my happiness that they finally came through last night and won one.

Even better than that ... they won against the Avalanche, which happens to be my least favorite team in the league, which makes the victory even sweeter.

However, I'm regretting that I didn't go to the game now, because I was in Pittsburgh yesterday and I could have stayed for the game but chose not to. I wish I would have gone ... because who knows when they'll win again.

Anyway, I know my team sucks, but if there's any other Pens supporters around here who would like to celebrate their win with me, feel free to post here.

Also, any new word on when Mario will be back?

It was a good win against a good offensive team.

Not sure on Mario but I'm hoping he doesnt play. I want to see more of these damn good young kids play. If we score atleast 3 goals a game, we will win, because Fluerry is good, and thats that.

Oh, I was there when they got their first win and came back 7-4 after a 0-4 start. I also met Chris Gardocki and Jeff Reed there

kansas city penguins.

i am not sure about Super Mario, but i think he might be done with hockey this season. one of the nicest hockey players, i wrote him a letter about his battle with cancer when i was younger, and he mailed me a package with signed pucks and photos.

better yet. penguins in kansas city?

Crosby= Over Rated.

Oveckchin is truly the better rookie this year. Phaneuf isnt doing bad either, although he embarrases himself too much.

Phaneuf would be the rookie of the year if there was a 04-05 season. but due to crosby and oveckchin nope he aint gettin it. I really wanna see crosby step it up. This guy has great potential, he needs to know how to use it.

ovechkin IS the best rookie of the year. best all around rookie the NHL has seen in a while. He should get the Calder, but I think the NHL might be embarrased to not give it to Crosby after all the hype.

All lies! Crosby is the better :)

Evgeni Malkin. He was taken behind Ovechkin in the 2004 draft and is Pittsburgh property. If you watched World Junior's last year you will remember him playing on a line with Ovechkin, the kid will dangle the shit out of anyone. Throw him on a line with Sid next year and that is one powerful duo.

I totally forgot about him, how come he isn't playing?

he's 18 years old, and putting up over a point-per-game numbers... if that's not amazing for a rookie on the 8-15-6 penguins, then hell, i dunno what is.

I think all the rookies this year for the Pens have great potential. If they all stick around for a few years, the Pens might actually have a shot at the Cup in a few years.

I know for sure, I'm going to support my Pittsburgh team HEAVILY to keep them from moving. A move is just speculation at this point, anyway, but if there's enough support in Pittsburgh to keep the team around (like people going to games, for example) then they won't want to leave. It's all about money. I know I'll be spending some big bucks on Pens games in the next few years, if that's what it takes to keep them in PA.

I drove all the way from Rochester, NY to Pittsburgh on Saturday for the Avs-Penguins game.

I am avid Avalanche fan. Too bad they lost.

As far as I know he's playing in Europe. He will probably come over next year.

thats good. but not amazing. No matter what, crosby is taking the calder... even if he doesnt score a goal the rest of the season he'll take it, theres been too much publicity.

He scores ONE GOAL and its nhl front page headlines, while alfredson get 4 goals and its put under crosby. BS. Theres even a poll on nhl.com and the top two rookies are oveckchin and phaneuf as voted from the fans.

Masterbassers, I think "Masterbatters" sounds more like Masterbators.

..I know :)

And back to the topic of the pens, we finally fired our coach! :) Whether it was the right decision or not, there had to be change..so I'm happy.

yea bringing in Michel Therrien. Wilkes- Barre / Scranton has been phenomenal this year, maybe he can bring the pens outa the hole.

I guess Pittsburgh teams are finally starting to realize, a good team starts with a good coach...the Pirates and Penguins figured this out....the Steelers cannot.

I could have gone to the game last night, but when it came down to it I didn't have enough money. Guess it was a good thing since they lost anyway.

At least they seem to be doing much better, and pulling out of the slump they started out in. I think it's really due to the fact that they're such a young team, but once they get experience playing together they'll be pretty damn good.
