This Apparatus Must be Unearthed by The Mars Volta. I just discovered them a few days ago, and like them a lot. I'm very happy about finding a new band that I like.

"Out of Focus" by Blue Cheer (great 60's pre-metal sludge metal)
and oopyman- be careful with that mars volta, don't turn all emo on us (even though they're the best emo band in my opinion). don't give up on classic rock quite yet. ha
edit: the last two songs that I am really into that i downloaded are:
"I Wanna Destroy You" by the Soft Boys. Awesome guitar and great political type lyrics. The chorus is way cool too, with this simple kind of harmonizing that sounds great.
Also "I'm A Little Dinasour" (live) by Jonathan Richman. Sure, I'd already heard this song, but I haven't heard it live too many times. Most wouldn't like the weird kiddie type lyrics, but being the Richman fan I am, it's like Heaven.

You've definitley never heard of it. I'm into all sorts of music... even "Classical".
It's actually Romantic but... hey who cares.
Man named Antonyn Dvorak from Czechoslovakia was one of the first composers to come to America and write a song about America. This Symphony was called the New World Symphony appropriately.
I downloaded Movement Four of the New World Symphony by Antonyn Dvorak.
Prior to that was Songue d'une nuit du Sabbat by Hector Berlioz.
That and Hall of the Mountain King/Morning Mood by Edvard Grieg.

Legally, I downloaded Clay Aiken's album last week off of ITunes. I had no idea what he sounded like, so I was just curious because he has been covered in the media so much lately, going triple platinum, and touring around the country and such. I had no idea that he sounded like one of those boy bands that everyone hates. After listening to his album, I realized that I had just flushed $12 down the commode. He is even worse than the Backstreet Boys or N'Sync. To add to my dillemma, I was watching American Idol the other night, and I had the misfortune of watching him perform. Not only does he talk like he is gay (I know that he has a North Carolina accent, that's not what I'm talking about), but his smiles and mannerisms show it as well. Really, why doesn't he just admit it? That's all. Come clean with your fans, and let them know who you really are. When I was listening to his songs on the album, which are all love songs btw, I couldn't help but wonder if he was talking about another man or a woman.

Hey Dozzi -- just wanted to commend you on your choice. The Dvorak 9 is a beast to play, but it's one of my favorite romantic pieces. It makes me so happy when I hear people on this board talk about classical music and know what they're talking about. It makes me feel like I'm actually doing something productive with my life. Thank you, Dozzi!
P.S. -- I see you were on the whole romantic kick (berlioz, grieg). Nice! Still, my all-time favorite romantic composer was Debussey. Especially since he told the music world they could take their whole no-parallel-movement rule and shove it.
Speaking of which, the last song I downloaded was an arrangement of Claire di Lune for piano and string quartet.
