I just felt like making a survey. What is your favorite Kiss album?

I personally am not too fond of a lot of Kiss' music, however I love the hell out of their grunge album Carnival of Souls, so I suppose that one would have to be my favorite. It's probably the only Kiss album I feel is worth my time.

Discuss.

Hahahaha idiots.

I'm guessing Gene Simmons is gay?

Is that trendy now?

Is it just me, or is it some kind of trend here to bash every commercially large band? I've not anything personal against anyone here (by both life and online standards, of course), but it sure feels like it.

Metallica bashing, Kiss bashing, Avenged Sevenfold bashing... The list goes on.

Let me put it this way: Those of you who enjoy Alice In Chains, Helmet or (especially) Soundgarden will love Kiss' album Carnival of Souls. It's a really well-done grunge album that sounds nothing like the glam rock shit or disco shit of the other releases. Try it out. It's a great album.

I see your name must be a Green Jelly reference. I take it you're a fan of that band too? :)

What would Brian Boitano do if he were here today?

Kiss is not grunge.

I did not say they were grunge as a whole, but Carnival of Souls was an experimentation with grunge, therefore making them a grunge band at that point in their career.

It's amazing how many genres Kiss have explored, even going so far as to make a disco album (Dynasty).

Please. Unless you have an answer to this question and/or would like to discuss something along the lines of the band that is at least REMOTELY ON TOPIC or SIGNIFICANT IN SOME ASPECT TO THE BAND, don't reply to this thread. Nobody needs a piss ant.

I'm sure he'd kick an ass or two,
That's what Brian Boitano would do.

Kiss just never really did anything for me. I couldn't say it was my favorite, but I like the one where they first took off their makeup. "Lick It Up"? All, I know is that's my favorite song because it's about licking stuff.

Kiss was actually the 2nd band I ever saw play live. It was a cool show I guess, obviously I hadn't had a whole lot of experience with live show though. I can say one thing for sure, most of their music is pretty corny and definately not my style.

You'd probably like Carnival of Souls then. It's got a much dirtier sound like Soundgarden or Helmet and is less sappy than ever before. In fact, it probably isn't sappy at all. It even avoids all of the trademark 'sex 'n rock and roll' cliches in their other lyrics, instead showing focused maturity in lyrics concerning fear, manipulation and life. That and it's a grunge album.

You all must be pretty young.

Kiss sucks, eh? Amazing they have been very successful and continue to have sold out concerts for over 30 years.

Depends on what you prefer, whether they suck or not.

Now...Flock of Seagulls. THEY SUCK!

Don't listen to Kiss anymore (I've mellowed, considerably) , but....back in the day? "Destroyer".
