I'm thinking about bringing my drumset to my dorm room. Small problem is that my dorm room is fucking small...

Not to get my dorm room confused with an apartment type building, there are 2 beds, some dressers and such, there is no bathroom or kitchen or anything inside the room.

Basically I'm wondering if anybody thinks this is a good or a bad idea and also if they've ever seen it done...

Some advice on how to make things fit into small places is also appreciated. I'm guessing im going to be using my bass drum as a place to store various items, like a little drawer. (The kind of bass drum with a hole in the drumhead, very tedious otherwise)

You're going to be playing drums in your dorm room? Fuck I hope you have those pads to silence the shit, otherwise you're just a dick.

This is a bad idea. This is a very bad idea. I've seen people nearly lynched just for playing their TV loud.

There's an emo kid in my hall with a professional sound system.

He constantly blasts such delightful music as atreyu, MCR, and others, in return, other people constantly blast their music. My dorm is fucking loud. I'm not too worried about people getting pissed off about the noise, considering all the shit I have to listen to.

If you've never heard wesley willis being BLASTED at 3 in the morning through a paper thin wall, you've never heard nothing.

One kid in our dorm started blasting The Doobie Borthers through his surround sound system. We told him to stop and he did. Then we burned his hands in a waffle iron. That'll show HIM to comply with demands........hippie

I have my set in my dorm, Originally our beds were bunk beds, but we took out the bottom one and put it on the other side of the room, then I put my set under there.

Sounds like you have some ass kicking to do.

If you are going to do that only put things like blankets and stuff in the bass drum. I put a keychain from my mom in there and it would bounce and hit the walls of the drum.

Bad idea, my dorm is probably just as small and its hard enough getting around in there with just my guitar and effects pedal lieing there. But its a shame because when I try to find drummers around campus, none of them have a set. Try the music building if your college has one, mine has a few practice rooms with drum sets.
