Vai is insane.
My friends are all against him and say he has no soul.
However, I think he is the Hendrix of our generation.

In Hendrix's time, people regarded him just as they did with Vai today. They said he just used effects and speed and played like madman.

Vai is talented beyond many musicians' comprehension.

first off i'm 17

secondly, i don't worship jack white i merely have respect for him and like a good portion of his music.

third of all, crimson citizen is being an idiot. i only like a couple of the songs i've heard from steve vai but its almost impossible to find the words to desribe how insanely good he is. he doesn't just do mindless shredding and his music has depth to it.

i think he's getting vai confused with guys like malmsteen, who in a lot of ways can be considered a very bad guitarist despite being techniquely very good.

Anyway, I don't know what you guys are talking about with Vai and Malmsteen, They are both great guitarists and are taking them for granted. Think of how many TRULY bad guitarists there are in the music industry making more money than Vai and Malmsteen combined.
