At first I didnt want to even listen to death metal so I didn't. But I've started too. The bands I have are:
Cryptopsy - Once was not
Children of Bodom - Are you dead yet , follow the reaper
In flames - Like 4 albums
And the song Dechristianized by vital remains.
So what are some good other ones I can get?
Thanks for the help guys.

I wouldn't class In Flames as Death metal. Don't flame me, i love the band, in fact i got 'Used & Abused' dvd set for xmas!
Anyway here are 3 'death metal' bands you should be listening to right now.
Cephalic Carnage - Anomalies (well you can class them in other catogories like Grindcore aswell)
Nile - Anihilation of the wicked(Death metal kings)
Necrophagist - Epitaph
Goddamn catogories!

Yes, Metallic. As I said in my first post, some are a bit more brutal, melodic, prog, grind and black than others, but all use elements of death metal.
He won't be disappointed regardless.

Yeah true. Control Denied is amazing. The release by them is better than most of death's stuff.

Thanks guys that looks like a lot of good stuff.
Now the question is where do I get it?
I live in a tiny town with only like 2 good music stores. Neither of them sell anything good.
Where should I go to buy some good cd's?

Odds are you won't find most of this in any music store anyway. You'd have to buy them online. Try Amazon.com or something.

Einherjer. They rule. They made one power metal album though "odin owns ye all" so you might want to skip that one (i like it, but it aint death metal). Their albums "Blot" and "Norwegian Native Art" are pretty good.

I'd like to see that band's name spelled in the stereotypical death metal font that nobody can read...
I used to say I hate death metal and black metal. But recently I've been listening to bands like Dimmu Borgir, Ash, and Napalm Death.

There ya go, a full, legal death metal album. Ya gotta sign up, but just put in a fake address and stuff. Not of all of it is screaming death metal though.

Deicide is about as generic as death metal gets. In any case, "Legion" was a great album. "Holy Deception" was a special song for me. Stay away from newer Deicide, though.

Deicide is boring. They're a very marketable death metal sound. It's not horrible, but comparing it to, say, IMMOLATION, is quite a feat. Especially when they headlined a tour with Immolation on it.
I wouldn't really call Einherjer death metal. They are more of a varient off of folk metal, added some heavier roots to it, and whamo! They're Viking Metal. Dragons of The North is also essential to pick up.
But great band none the less.

I like Into Eternity, but other than the vocals, they don't really sound like Extol that much, therefore uncomparable.

I agree. Deicide and Legion are their only two good albums in my opinion...in fact, I would probably put Legion in my top ten death metal albums. However other than those two albums they're a waste of time.

Dark Tranquility is melodic death metal. Gothenburg is "melodic death metal"
And Arch Enemy blows.

You've never given arch enemy a chance if you think they blow.
Go listen to burning bridges. Not a bad song on the entire album.
