FAKE

Sorry but I just had to say it. Those look so fake, I mean omg it's impossible, it physically doesn't make any sense, and on the same page there's a link to see the guy making the stone things. Yet notice in the whole video he never ONCE actaully picks up a rock and gently puts it on. He's ALWAYS at the point where it's already up and now he just has to gently remove his hand, the whole dam video! It's fake as hell and I don't give a shit about what anybody sais unless they can give me another link with a video of him doing it completely!

You're logic as to why it is fake is "those look so fake..omg it's impossible"? Guess what, you can't make an assertation and then assume you are right until someone can proove you wrong..thats like saying "god is a goat, and unless you can show me an interview with god himself prooving that he is not I am right".

Now that I'm done pwning you, the pictures may be fake. However, it is very, very possible to do something like that, especially if you have practice. The key is to line up the center of gravity of all the rocks over one point. This is pretty much the same as the guy who set a world record by stacking like 13 bowling balls on top of each other, its all about a balanced center-of-gravity.

Why dont you look for a video, to prove yourself wrong?

The rest of us know its real, or have seen it done. (ok most know its real)

Actually it probably is fake. I have pictures which i will post of balanced rocks that use a type of hot glue. You still have to balance the rock but the glue keeps it in place.

Still cool as hell to look at!

Fuck you asshole, serioulsy. So what? you're saying I have to go to some kinda fucking science school to write a post on a Forum, fuck off. Take your "assertation" and kiss my ass. Now that I'm done pwning your mother, I have to ask you, have you always been a dick face, or is it just on the net?

Well, if not "science schooL", i recommend that you at least start with some high school.

I'm stll not sure if this is real or not, but this sure is pretty good evidence supporting it's realness.

These are, in fact, real. There is a guy that does it sometimes down at a beach near me and I've seen him balance rocks in person. There is no glue or anything.

I was riding my bike down near La Jolla and something caught my eye. Someone had apparently stacked about 4 rocks like those in the picture. Just to see if it was real, I just barely touched on of them and the whole thing came crashing down.

The secret to doing it is knowing exactly where the center of gravity is of the rocks. You also have to know exactly where to put it on the one below. It's pretty much a talent that you have to be born with. Or it just takes a TON of practice.

If you say that a little poke knocks them down, then how do you explain these?!?

Well, if you had read the caption, it explains how the bird balances. Here, I'll quote it for you.

Much as a master acrobat can balance on one hand above a tower of stacked chairs, birds find little difficulty resting on a balanced stone sculpture

I didn't balance my finger on top of the rocks, I touched it from the size which very easily throws off the balance, therefore making the rocks fall.

Those are'nt fake. I've been hiking in Colorado many times and have seen these rocks. I saw some hikers actually in the process of doing it while they were resting.

I personally know for a fact its real!!! Iv seen it with my own eyes!
There is this guy who does it at the EX it toronto every year. He can take ta like 20 mins just to balance one rock. There is no glue or anything. It was like the coolest thing ever!!!!

On Ripley's once, they had a guy who could balance 6 bowling balls on top of each other.

FUCKING BOWLING BALLS. WHICH ARE ROUND. AND SIX OF THEM.

It's not impossible, but not everyone can do it, there's some some of extra perception thing about it.

The bowling ball thing has been on all types of those shows like Real TV, Maximum Exposure and Ripley's. I think the rocks are cooler though.

Hmm, some people say it's real. I don't know whether or not I believe it, because I wanna see the whole thing, not the last 2 seconds of the structure. And I started my post of with respect, and just gave my opinion and of course I jazzed it up with some strong statements of it being fake, but there have been many true or false threads. But than jackassess have to come on the board and tell me about some bullshit about science or what not, like I'm suppose to give a shit about backing up Ebaumsworld posts with scientific research and assertation bullshit. Like honestly. Anywho, I still think they're fake, although if it's real, that's cool, but I would have to see the whole video

These pictures were taken in Eureka, California. Believe it or not...I've been there. I can tell you, I've seen these rock sculptures with my own eyes, and they're not fake. There are notches carved into the rocks which helps them balance and interlock with one another.

why does everyone always go to the fuckin moon with how shit is fake?

but believe it or not, it is real. its hard as hell, and takes alot of time and practice, but can be done. if you dont believe it, nobody cares.

I've seen people do these in San Francisco at Fisherman's Wharf. I actually paid the guy some money because I was amazed. He picks up rocks from the shore (typically with a sharp end) and places it on top of another rock (doesn't matter what shape) and he keeps turning and turning the top rock until he finds the balancing point. I forget how long it took him to do each one. He was a Mexican teenager and he said it took him about 5 years to master the skill. Once he puts each sculpture up, it doesn't fall until he takes it down at night for safety. Very cool.

Alright there's enough people here I trust to believe those pics. Thanks to those who contributed their opinion, and fuck you to those who were assholes on the whole thing. Peace out. And if anybody can post a link of pics or good videos, I would love to see them. :)
