Wal-marts website directed shoppers who were looking for the movies 'planet of the apes' and 'willy wonka' to african-american themed movies about martin luther king and black boxer jack johnson. they took that feature off the website.

Maybe african americans like Planet of the Apes and Willy Wonka. Seriously, its probably just a computer program that analyzes what people buy. It probably has drawn a conclusion the the people that buy these movies also buy movies about MLK and some boxer that I've never heard of. Don't be so quick to throw the race card down.

actually i didn't throw the race card down...wal-mart did and they apologized for it and got rid of the feature.

I doubt Wal-Mart would do anything intentionally to alienate a good portion of thier customer base. Wal-Mart just sees green. They don't see black and white.

When I heard this story on the news I pissed my pants laughing! But It's true that they only see green, not black or white. It was an honest mistake which they apoligized for.
