I haven't been caught downloading music yet. I know this one girl in class who got sued for 1,500$. I got a little scared but then she had more than 3000 songs! I don't have that much. So have you ever been caught ny the RIAA or know someone that did?

I think you only have to worry about getting caught if you share your files. Correct me if I'm wrong somebody, but I think if you set your kazaa, or whatever program you're using to not sharing, then you don't have anything to worry about.

Just dont share your files and youll be aight. Or just dont keep 3000 songs on your comp. I usually deleted all my songs after i burn them on a cd anyways.

Anyone use Ares here? I don't think theres an option to stop sharing, but if there is it'd be appreciated.

Smart. Never keep over 99 files in your shared folder...including music, video, programs, etc.

call me stupid, but how do you not have them in your shared folder. and does it matter if they're in your shared folder if your sharing is turned off? (i use bearshare)

Just move the files to My Documents or some other folder that you aren't using as a shared folder. For one thing, only have ONE FOLDER as a shared folder. Don't share you entire hard drive or a big bulk of it, like some half-wits do.
