There's no fuckin' point to this. This is nothing more than a marketing campaign.

"Hey, 6-6-06! It's like the devil! ha ha!"
"You know what movie would make big bucks on a day like that? A movie about the devil!"
"But that's been done. WAIT! THE ANTICHRIST!"
"That's been done too..."
"Who gives a shit? People are stupid and will pay for anything that has flashing images and scary music in the trailer. And to top it off, toss in JULIA STILES!"

"F'n GENIUS!"

Why are they remaking this? The originals are fantabulous.

^They're remaking it because Hollywood is rapidly running out of talent. Seriously, what was the last really GOOD movie that wasn't a remake or a sequel? There's only been like 3 in the last couple years.

I don't think it's because hollywood is running out of talent, i mean yes they are, but I think the real reason behind it is because producers and directors want to use these new "technilogical advances" to turn brown shit into gold shit. But, they don't, they always mess it up one way or another.

I can almost understand Hollywood's point of view on remakes. They figure that most kids today either didn't see or "don't get" the original versions of these classics (at least that's my take on it). So they want to use modern special effects and multi-million dollar budgets to make them more up-to-date so todays kids will like them. I say kids should just stop being pussies and watch the old ones with an open mind. Just because there aren't CGI monsters jumping out at you, doesn't mean it's a bad movie.

They cram all this high-tech shit into it and just ruin to real scare-factor. Look at Texas Chainsaw. The original had no special effects that you couldn't make yourself with a trip to the butcher shop. Leatherface was basically a monster in man's clothing. No back story, no emotion, he just fuckin killed you. In the new one they put too much effort into it. Simplicity is what made the original so great, nowadays Hollywood can't wrap their simple little minds around that concept.
