I'd like to see him playing double bass, wow.

Edit - well wait he actually is, hadn't seen that part of the video yet. Pretty incredible.

I've seen that guy before, he's fucking cheating! Just look at his pedals man, it has 2 slammers on both of them, and I've another video where he reveals that he has a special constructed foot thing so that he can play both from the heel and the leg. Trym from Emperor is better than that guy, and he can actually play in rhythm too, not just a long serie of random blasts.

I wish they would show him playing more. All I saw was some guy talking about the muscles he works and massaging himself.

Uuhhhh...no.
He's using 1 "slammer" for each foot. Not 2.

He explains his technique in this video. He's using a regular double-bass pedal, and he's still using both techniques. He just found a way to use both simultaneously, no specially constructed foot thing.

Trym the Emperor? WTF is that?

And I'm sure if this guy is THIS fast, he can play a real rhythm too. He's in a double-bass contest though. There's no way this guy practiced doing JUST double-bass blasts until he got this fast. He's a drummer, he can play real rhythm.

I always trym. It's the only way to keep things clean.

Trym is the drummer of Emperor, he's extremely fast. But he only plays with his heels! And this guy even admits that he uses both techniques, and you need a special pedal for that (which you can see in another one of his videos), so that's kind of cheating if you ask me.

no you do not need a special pedal. the technique -can- be taught using regular drum pedals but the tool itself (called a Vruk Pedal, it attaches to your bass drum pedal footboard) aids in learning it. I've heard examples of Tim playing. He plays very well.
