Done.
Listen to:
"A Warm Place" by Nine Inch Nails.
It is a very slow ambient song. If you can't find beauty in that song then you can't find it anywhere else.
Except with Pink Floyd. Always and forever.
Peace out.

What BigMattTheHobo said. Classical music is some of the most beautiful music you will ever hear.

These artists make beautiful music:

Explosions in the Sky
Sigur Rós
Iron & Wine
Sufjan Stevens
Beck (The albums "Sea Change" and "Mutations", specifically)

These are a few beautiful songs:

Love Song by The Cure (but only if you like 80's music)
Night on the Sun; Bankrupt on Selling; Gravity Rides Everything; Lives; Life Like Weeds; Custom Concern; Talking Shit About a Pretty Sunset by Modest Mouse (but only if you can tolerate the vocals)
Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels); Une Annee Sans Lumiere; Neighborhood #4 (7 Kettles); Wake Up; In the Backseat by The Arcade Fire are all at least semi-beautiful
New Slang by The Shins
Subterranean Homesick Alien; Exit Music (For a Film); The Tourist by Radiohead
The Engine Driver; On the Bus Mall; Of Angels and Angles by The Decemberists
The Killing Moon by Echo & the Bunnymen
Elevator Beat by Nancy Wilson
Rain, Rain; Roscoe; The Pioneers; Good Dog, Happy Man by Bill Frisell
In the Morning of the Magicians; Ego Tripping at the Gates of Hell; Do You Realize?? by The Flaming Lips

Yeah, I could list for a while, but I think I'll stop here.

Hayley Westenra. This girl is 18, from New Zealand, and good looking. I was listening to her CD at B&N the other day, and man she must have the best singing voice in the world. Just makes all your cares go away for awhile, seriously. I just don't know how someone can possibly be that gifted.

Always With Me, Always With You - Joe Satriani

For some reason I think instrumentals really get a message across better than words in some cases.

Ten Years Gone by Led Zeppelin is really awesome too.

2Pac was an overrated MC and a fucking pussy, he chose to adopt a shallow, violent 'thug' lifestyle then moaned when it got him down and is consequently hailed as a 'credible artist', I mean fair enough if he had portrayed a chilling criminal mind set or painted vivid pictures of horror, but that was way beyond him.

I like the odd tune but his lyrics are fucking pitiful and his flow is pretty mediocre, tries to be eloquent and falls way short. If he were alive he wouldn't get half the praise he does, I cannot seriously believe people speak of him as the greatest rapper of all time, it's like calling Nick Mason the world's best drummer, oh wait, sycophantic Floyd fans do that too...

Godsmack - "I Fucking Hate You"
Wow, you've heard of Hayley Westenra! She's huge here in NZ. I think she was trained as an opera singer but she doesn't use vibrato and other operatic skills because the average person apparently doesn't like to hear them.

And also, I think she writes her own songs, but I'm not sure.

And also, I think she writes her own songs, but I'm not sure.

I first heard her name when I was in Australia last August, but I didn't know much more than the name and the face. Until the other day when my eye caught her CD at the store, and I was hooked.

When people take the vibrato overboard (Mariah Carey, Beyonce) it just sounds shitty. But when it's used carefully (Nightwish) it sounds good. But I much prefer those who don't. Like her, and the singers from The Gathering, Within Temptation, or Xandria. I'm familiar with Delta Goodrem as well. She's different, but also good.
I Will Breathe Fire-Strata

Wow, somebody else has heard of Strata. :)
