Donna Lee
Charlie Parker OR Jaco Pastorius
(if you've heard both, this should be easy)
I only found out yesterday that Donna Lee was originally written by Charlie Parker. However, I haven't heard that original yet, but I'm betting Pastorius' version is better.
Meanwhile:
Remember Tomorrow (Iron Maiden) - covered by Opeth
Painkiller (Judas Priest) - covered by Death

Personally, I prefer Jaco's version. But I'm a bass player and a Jaco fanatic (as my avy suggests), so my opinion is extremely biased. Parker's version is fuckin awesome, it's just completely different. If you've heard Jaco's version, it's nothing but bass. Parker's is a full big band arrangement, the bass just plays a nice little walking ditty. It's really a great tune regardless of how it's played, but do yourself a favor and check out the original.
