On CNN I just heard that 39 (gasp!) French troops have been deployed to the Persian Gulf, they are experts in WMD. I, for one, am not surprised at this. Anyone else have thoughts?

CNN News Quote:
"The U.S. government believes that many Iraqis want to surrender, but many have nobody to surrender to yet, as troops have not yet arrived."
My response:
A problem that's plagued the French for centuries.

I think what the report failed to mention was that the 39 French troop are going to be deployed to assist Saddam Hussein not the coalition of the willing.

as i mentioned in another post i feel that the UN should exclude France from the war desicions at hand. this is yet again another reason to do so. this might be extreme but i feel that sadaam husein is the modern day hitler, if you fail to realize that take a look at world war II and the toll of deaths. unless i'm mistaken i believe the number of jews executed alone was 6,000,000; that's right 6 million. he destroyed an actual percent of the world population. will you sit there and say "whatever" and passively allow the death of fellow Americans and of people in his own country to continue? at least support our fellow neighbors and friends and hope for their safe return home when we kick his ass.

How disappointing that the French are helping as the war is such a load of crap anyway. I'd "love" to join in the little hate fest that is going on here but I think that, like most people and nations in the world, that is the reason such things happen.
I hear that a handful of Americans have been injured.....I wonder how many Iraquis are dead. Think about that.

Hey-- that raises a philosphical question...
If an Iraqi dies, and everyone knows about it, does anyone really care?
Wake up asshole-- Iraqis are the enemy. Not our troops.

You guys fail to realize how much we need the French in Iraq. If the French do not goto Iraq, who will teach them how to surrender?

Although I am a supporter of our troops and am behind them 100% I think that we should examine WHY things are the way they are. Let's not forget that WE gave Saddam money and weapons in the 80's to fight Iran. We also gave the Taliban and Osama money, weapons and training to fight the Russians in Afghanistan. We should be way more careful in who we help in the future, lest it come and bite us in the ass again and we have to clean up our own mess.

hmmm....let's see, a dozen Americans dead in a plane crash, 10 killed because Iraqi soldiers dressed as civilians, 4 more from a shooting or bombing, don't remember which one; and that's all that anyone has told us. think about that. again, as we've had to tell many people in this Forum, you need to be able to confirm your information.

Think about this. the ratio of Iraqi Casualties (dead missing wounded or captured) to US casualties is the way it is because of what's going on. Many Iraqis are attacking several smaller groups of US troops. Our troops are more skilled at what they're doing, therefore mor Iraqis will die. all our people are doing is obeying their orders and defending themselves. If you want less Iraqis to die go out there and tell em to stop attacking our guys.

you're right, we did give money and weapons, but because we trusted them to use them for the intended purpose. when someone promises you something and they fail to live up to that, aren't you personally insulted? and let's see, Sadaam promised to destroy his bio weapons, he didn't do that; promised to stop killing his own countrymen, didn't do that; it's not our fault that Sadaam is doing what he is doing, but it's our responsibility to tend to the basic needs of people in Iraq, which is torn apart because of a dictator that stabs people in the back. let's not forget September 11, 2001, when Osama Bin Laden changed America. it never fails to amaze me when a narrow-minded person says something without thinking on the other side.

seems like "this is the way it is because of what happened to it" is what you just said. that's pretty obvious, but, if more Iraquis are gonna go out there knowing they're gonna die, let them be martyrs. their actions are causing us to not only to capture their leader but also to act with basic self defense. if group X attacks group Y, group Y will defend themselves. just like if someone were to say something against your view you would come back with an argument. enough said on that.

I wonder if war protesters think that terrorists won't gas them just as quickly, should they be able to? These bastards don't make the distinction, so long as you are American. Even if you're Arabic, Muslim, and sympathize (God foribid) with Al Qaeda, you are still American and therefore an "infidel." All Americans are dirt to them-- no exceptions.
