my buddy bought this super shitty nova for $500 out of this guys back yard, then about a week later we drove it over 3000 miles from Michigan to Bowling Green Kentucky, then to Port Charlotte Florida, then back to Ky and finally back to to Mi. it was a lot of fun despite constant harassment from the punk ass police, the only problem the nova had during the whole trip was a headlight went out, and a georgia state trooper was more than happy to tell us about it. we could have drove a few different "new cars" but we thought it would be more fun to ride in style with the 77, we beat the shit out of the nova pretty much the whole time, countless burnouts, shopping carts rammed in the hundreds, it even rammed a palm tree in a tropical wildlife preserve in florida.
average speed was about 80mph and we got better than 20mpg thanks to the 2.54 gears and 2 bbl carb, it drove really nice but it did burn about a quart of oil every 1000 miles, but its estimated mileage is around 260k so thats not to bad. if anyones looking for a budget ride thats reliable and you dont care what it looks like 70s novas are the way to go. heres some pics and videos from the voyage. we visited Sasquatch4406 in Ky and he showed us a place wher this hillbilly has about 40 muscle cars in his back yard and in a barn, almost all mopars, ther was a 440 4 speed fury hardtop, an AMC AMX, a gang of 66 chargers, and even a 65 plymouth A/FX race car.

heres a video, i hosted it on RapidShare. it shows some nova rally action in Fl, a new sport we invented that utilizes all 3 of a rednecks favorite things ( skeet, beer, 77 nova) about a 125 mph run in the nova (we got the needle past the "R" a few times) and a little gun shootin'.

the file was to big for putfile, rapidshare is the fastest firesharing site i know of, and it usually works pretty good. you have to go to the bottom and click "Free" then it will make you wait like 20-40 seconds and you can download it.

nope, we didnt go threw west virginia, i have been ther many times to visit family that lives in the mountains, seems ther part of the state is infested with 64-66 mustang coupes, i saw more 1st generation coupes down ther than i did new mustangs, none of them were nice though because they still daily drive them, it was weird.

I would throw a cage full of small animals off of a cliff just so I could touch that Chevelle.

Sounds like you had fun on the trip. I'd love to do something like that.

Sounds like a fun trip, when my friend finishes his '64 Falcon Sedan Delivery we are planning on taking a road trip.

Why does everyone get so worked up over Chevelles and other common cars? I see these cars every day.

Next cruise night around "idiot circle" I will get some pictures, there are plenty of common cars like Chevelles, Camaros, Chargers, and quite a few others.

There are a lot of rare cars that show up too, like pair of '66 Hemi Chargers, a Boss 429 Mustang, Cougar Boss Eliminator and a 69 Z/28 Camaro with a 302 that show up regularly. The most of the cars are driven regularly, including a '52 Packard Hearse/Ambulance.

It is really a 2 door wagon that a tree fell on. He has a deal with the local body man to fix the roof and replace the broken side windows with metal. It will have a 200/C4 combo nothing special just a reliable daily driver. The major work should be done by summer, then we will work on the details.

i have a 200/Ford-O-Matic in my 64 falcon, i rebuilt the engine, cylinder head, and transmission, it gets about 25mpg with a 3.20:1 rear end, i wish i had a 2 door wagon or a sedan delivery, that will make the perfect road trip vehicle! hows his grille? it seems impossible to find a nice grille for a 64 these days, on Ebay NOS ones bring BIG bucks. that delivery is going to have one hell of a blind spot! i hope he has the optional passenger side rear veiw mirror.:)

Love the picks! I also always wanted to do a road trip with a friend, but somehow we haven't managed so far. I love travelling and really would like to go overseas but the trips around the world (http://www.pages.drexel.edu/~cp76/worldtravel.html) are really expensive, therefore I'd rather like to stay here and drive around. Probably we'll manage this summer.

shopping carts rammed in the hundredsHave you tried pushing them? I bent the wheel bracket and twisted the frame of one cart by pushing it into a curb at 35 and got one cart up to 45 before it escaped to the left of my bumper. You can also get a cable and tie it to the cart and drag it, makes a great spark show at night.
