With the 1st pick in the 2006 NFL Draft, the Houston Texans select...

Reggie Bush out of Southern Cal. David Carr is a pretty good quarterback, so Vince Young and Matt Leinart don't need to be picked this high. Domanick Davis can be used to trade for a good free agent, possible an o-lineman. With Bush stadium attendance would be up, his jersey sales would bring a lot more money to the Texans, and he has the potential to raise the team's morale.

Jakhavok, your go.

explanation on why you chose Leinart?

Jimothy, you're up.

Jimothy51

With the 3rd pick in the 2006 NFL Draft, the Tennesse Titans select: Vince Young (http://media.collegepublisher.com/media/paper410/stills/488clzfl.jpg) QB, National Champion Texas Longhorns.

This was an easy decision when Leinart went to the Saints. If the Saints took Young, I wouldn't have chose Leinart, but would have instead taken A.J. Hawk.

Young is a freak.(in a good way) He is 6-5 240, and his rushing ability will be 2nd in the NFL only to Mike Vick as far as QB's go. He is an incredibly accurate passer, completing over 65% of his passes last year. He can learn a lot from Steve McNair because they are similar players.

I see him sitting out 2006, learning what it takes to be an elite quarterback from one of the best, and coming out in 2007 and having a great year, a la Carson Palmer. Young should be a many time Pro-Bowler, and possibly a Super Bowl Championship.

Just a few of his many career accomplishments:

Vince is the first and only player in NCAA I-A history to pass for 3,000 yards and rush for 1,000 yards in the same season.

Win/loss record as a starter of 30-2 as of January 5, 2006, ranking him #1 of all UT quarterbacks by number of wins. His .938 winning percentage as a starting quarterback ranks sixth best in Division I history.

Vince’s career passing completion percentage is the best in UT history, 61.8%

Passed for 44 TDs (No. 4 in UT history) while rushing for 3,127 yards (No. 1 on UT’s all-time QB rushing list/No. 5 on UT’s all-time list) and 37 TDs (No. 4 on UT’s all-time rushing TDs list/T-No. 1 among QBs)

Young's 9,167 yards of total offense is a school record.

Young has rushed and thrown for over 100 yards in the same game a UT-record five times in his career

Young is the only UT player to accumulate 400 or more yards of total offense in a single game more than once. Chris Simms and Major Applewhite accomplished it once each, while Young accomplished the feat four times.

Set a UT record for total offensive yards in a game, with 506 yards against Oklahoma State on October 29, 2005

He is the only QB in UT history to rush for 100 yards in three or more games during a season and has done so in his freshman, sophomore years, and junior years.

Young set the UT single-game completion percentage record against Oklahoma State in 2004 by completing 18 of 21 passes (85.7%). He broke his own record in 2005 by completing 25 of 29 passes (86.2%) against Colorado.

Young set the UT single-game record for rushing yards by a QB with 192 versus Michigan in the Rose Bowl. He broke his own record in 2005 by rushing for 267 yards against Oklahoma State.

Young owns five of the top seven single-game QB rushing performances in UT history: 267 yards vs Oklahoma State as a Junior; 200 yards vs Southern California as a Junior; 192 yards vs. Michigan as a Sophomore; 163 yards vs. Nebraska as a Freshman; 158 yards at Texas Tech as a Sophomore

Young has six of the top 8 longest runs by a QB in UT history

Young became the first player in UT history to pass and rush for 1,000 or more yards in the same season

Young became the first quarterback in UT history to have three 100-yard rushing games (vs. Oklahoma, at Baylor, vs. Nebraska) in the same season and is tied with Ricky Williams (1995) for the third-most 100-yard games by a freshman in school history.

Young's 17 wins and 43 TDs accounted for in 2003-2004 are the most ever by a UT QB in their first two years.

Is a two-time winner of the Rose Bowl MVP award, joining Ron Dayne, Bob Schloredt, and Charles White as the only two-time winners.

In the 2006 NCAA national championship game, he completed 30 of 40 passes for 267 yards and carried the ball 19 times for 200 yards and 3 rushing touchdowns. Those 200 rushing yards set a Bowl game rushing record by a QB. He was named Rose Bowl MVP for the second time in his career. UT beat USC by the score of 41 to 38 and Vince Young ran in the winning touchdown. In this game, UT ended USC's 34-game win streak. Young's 467 total yards set a new Rose Bowl record.

New York Jets choose............

Lendale White
RB/USC

The Jets have major problems and he could fix a minor part of them.White is a tough, physical running back who is a workhorse. He has the size of a fullback and is very difficult for defenders to bring down. Has deceptive speed and will occasionally break off the big run. Shows good burst through holes and consistently breaks tackles. Is dangerous and dependable around the goal line and is able to find the end zone often. In general, is a bruising runner who almost always gets the tough yards and is difficult to tackle. White does not receive enough attention, as everyone seems to focus on teammates Matt Leinart and Reggie bush. However, White, not Bush, was the Trojans’ leading rusher in 2004. He is a strong inside runner with the ability to become a workhorse in the NFL. Although he is not much of a receiver or outside runner, he is a productive player who constantly is able to find the end zone. Curtis Martin happens to be my favorite running back for his age caught up to him and we need him. Chad Pennington will get better.

With the 6th pick in the 2006 NFL Draft, the San Francisco 49ers select:
D'Brickashaw Ferguson (http://www.cavalierdaily.com/.Archives/2004/11/17/sp-football-bd(file).gif) LT University of Virginia

Ferguson is considered by everyone to be the top offensive linemen in the draft. He's the kind of player that can anchor an offensive line for years to come. With quality players at QB and RB, a good OL will help the 49ers immensely. Ferguson is incredibly athletic for his size ( 6-5 295) and he has some of the best footwork many people have seen. I think Ferguson can have a career that is similar to Walter Jones' at best. Even if he doesn't live up to the hype, he is too talented to be a bust.

TheDawgPound72
03-01-2006, 05:36 PM
With the 7th pick in the 2006 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders select, DE out of North Carolina State University, Mario Williams.

http://www.nationalchamps.net/2005/sub/pics/small/northcarolinastate_mario_williams_sm.jpg

http://media.scout.com/Media/Image/25/256669.jpg

At #7, the Raiders have a lot of options. It came down between Williams, Ngata, and Vernon Davis, but Willima has the most upside out of any of these prospects. He's a freak of an athlete, a lot of scouts compare him to Julius Peppers, and he even did better than Peppers did at the combine this year.

Shorty|*|RocK89
03-01-2006, 05:52 PM
Buffalo picks Michael Huff
Michael Huff is a very athletic defensive back, who can play both corner and safety. He has excellent speed to go along with good hip movement which allows him to run with receivers and make plays on the ball. He's very smart player who recognizes routes. His athleticism and smarts make him a ballhawk, and he has a tendency to return interceptions for touchdowns.

This is going painfully slow. If the next guy doesn't make his pick by tomorrow we should just pick for him. Institute a 2 day maximum between picks. Start sending e-mails. Something. Otherwise we might as well start preparing for the 2007 draft.

pudgmo

With the 9th pick in the NFL draft The Detroit Lions select from Virginia Tech, Cornerback
Jimmy Williams. (http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=17&p=8&c=1&nid=2133708)
This kid has a lot of potential and Detroit has to shore up their backfield.

Then look at any mock draft site. They ALL have Ngata going to the Bills if he's still there at that pick. Or better yet think about it. They just released their mammoth DT...so they draft a DB instead of a mammoth DT?

Next pick.

You're telling me to read? You're the one who needs to learn how to read/write. You don't make any sense. "pick what you would want think not what they will pick." WTF does that mean? I was merely making a suggestion seeing how you so stated yourself that you didn't know what you were doing. This mock is going to be lame if people just start throwing out names because that's the only prospect they know that's left. You have to make it somewhat realistic.

I'm guessing everybody gave up on this but whatever. I'm taking it over. You get two days to make your pick (I'll give patriotwarrior7 an extra day) otherwise I make it.

I made the pick for the Cardinals. They shored up their backfield with Edge. They could look at TE Vernon Davis which would give them just a ridiculous passing game but after losing McCown and with Cutler on the board I think the Cards look to grab the QB of the future (sorry John Navarre).

St Loius Rams select- Vernon Davis TE-University of Maryland.

is a tight end for the University of Maryland, College Park. He is currently the top tight end prospect in the 2006 NFL Draft due to a strong performance at the scouting combine.Maryland, he had the second most receiving yards of any player in the ACC.

The Rams are looking to go either for D# player or an offesnive player.

So no Michael Huff or Jimmy Williams for them. Davis put on a virtuoso performance in Indy, and he'll give balance to an offense that already has a ridiculously potent passing game with Bulger,Holt and Bruce.

Ok too late. liquidjesus is a no show.

The Browns select DT Haloti Ngata from Oregon. The Browns lack a legit NT in their 3-4 (Jason Fisk is subpar at best) and are glad to have Ngata fall to them. They could go with OLB/DE Manny Lawson from SC State as well but there are several 3-4 rush LB's available in rounds 2-4.
