The Japanese are fucking weird.

How does this clip reflect the weirdness of the Japanese? It's just a kid interviewing Dakota Fanning (~12 years old, not 6 year old) and having a nervous breakdown in the process.

It was weird how Fanning was behaving a million times more mature than the 17 year old guy who was interviewing her. This video was funny as hell.

He wasn't acting immature. He was just nervous. From the way he looks and the way he carried himself before the interview, I would say he lacks self confidence. I would know, I suffer from the same BS. With lack of self confidence comes easy nervousness. Whether you like her or not, Fanning is the top child star right now. So, a celebrity of her status would amplify that lack of self confidence and nervousness exponentially. Another factor, from what I understood(I don't speak Japanese), was that he isn't a professional interviewer. He was just some highschool kid they brought in to do it. The boy-girl thing has little,if anything, to do with his nervousness.
Another thing. If Fanning was my age, I'd date her. Why? I can look past a few crooked teeth and notice that she seems like a nice person. She wouldn't go around criticizing others on a few appearance imperfections. Have any of you seen Bicentennial Man? There is a great quote I heard in that movie. This isn't a direct quote, but close enough. "It's the imperfections that define you, not the perfections."

Heh, this video was funny as hell. I was laughing the whole time.
I thought it was especially funny how the 2 tuxedo guys were trying to keep the interviewer from acting all weird, like putting his right hand down again and again. :p
Great post by the way, revan685.

Did that guy totally go into a seizure after that interview?
P.S. Leave it to Ebaum to not know who Dakota Fanning is...
Looks like this guy was suffering from asparagus syndrome. It's kinda like being a half way autist. You are aware of your surroundings and can act quite normally, but you don't really have a social IQ. This is a big problem for these guys.
Anyways, people who suffer from asparagus syndrome are known to focus on a single skill, and get very, very good at it. This may be everything from Star Wars facts to drawing or math. In this case, it was probably Dakota Fanning or War of the Worlds. It would explain his erratic behavior towards her and this interview.
It's really not funny to make fun of a retarded kid.

Uhh.. Asperger's syndrome? Honestly, don't tell me you just said asparagus syndrome and you were trying to be serious about explaining it. :bang:
Well, syndrome or not, it was some funny shit. I've got a lot of respect for Dakota, she handled that really well; way above her age. And the convulsions the guy was having at the end was probably the most awesome part.
I hope he wasn't retarded, just really nervous and excited.. would make it a lot funnier.

My girlfriend's son has Asperger's and he acts nothing like that kid. As a matter of fact he is about as calm as anyone I've ever seen. Nothing upsets him.

What the hell is up with these Japanese tv shows? They always have something bad or funny happening to the person in front of the camera with people in studio or wherever they are laughing their asses off. Every japanese show ive seen was like this but the video was still funny.

You just managed to make it hilarious by calling it 'asparagus' syndrom though. Thank you, you just made my day.
