I 'liked' the one where the crew was talking about another crash and what was on the voice recorder...and then they crash. Fucking Karma.

Which one was that? In most of them it's kind of hard to make out what they're saying.

Ahh, wouldn't the word be 'irony,' as opposed to karma. Karma is more like the idea that, if you do bad shit to people, then people will end up doing bad shit to you. I couldn't find the one you were talking about(didnt click them all), so I guess it could be karma if they were saying "Oh stupid pilots. How could they be so dumb as to crash? Hahahaha fucking morons I tell you."
But if they were just talking about a crash casually, and then they crash, I believe that is irony. Or maybe even coincidental is a better word.
Just my 2cents. no insult intended...

delta flight 1141.
it has the clearest recording of pre-crash casual conversation. yes of course you're right it's irony not karma, i was just typing in a hurry and not thinking. also this recording, at the very end, has the most chilling sounds of all of them.

Firepiss. Get real.. People who die in car crashes end up the same as people who die in airplane crashes.. DEAD. You should probably give up crossing the street, or eating chicken with bones, too.

When you crash in plane, it's good damn chance your going to die. And the crazy part about it is, you'll know the last seconds of your life your going to die which is horrible. There is nothing you can do about it.
When you crash in car, it's greater chance of you living than dieing. But when you crash in car, you won't see it coming unlike the air plane.

When you die in a car crash, you die.
When you die in a plane crash, you die.
When a piano falls on your head, you die.
When you get cancer that invades your body, you die.
What is the difference of WHAT YOU KNOW before you die? You're still going to die. If you live your life worrying about the type of death you'll die, you'll never leave home.

Well....I think that dying is not as bad as "Waiting to die." What I mean is is that if you owe money to someone for a long time and you dont pay up, they kidnap you and say that their gonna kill you even if u do pay then u know that death is coming when they get u to where theyre taking u. I mean the whole time you know that they're gonna kill u and ur scared shitless because you know that u are going to die!! But if they just come up from behind you and shoot u in the head then there was no fear and there was to mental stress over the fact that u were going to be killed......thats just my take on it.

Grammar Nazi:
Irony is:
The use of words to express something different from and often opposite to their literal meaning.
It's not karma OR irony. Just like nothing mentioned in that confounded Alanis Morissette song was ironic.
You're just talking coincidence. In the case of the plane...prophetic.

Nazi killer:
The word you're thinking of is sarcasm - when you say something but really mean the exact opposite (i.e. "Ooh, yay! Another five page essay! I can't wait!!!)
Irony is when something totally opposite from what you would expect to happen, happens. For example, if a fire house burns down, that's irony. It's slightly ironic that the crew would be talking about another crash right before they did - you would expect them to be more careful, crashes are quite rare. Although you're right, it's more of a coincidence, it's also pretty ironic.

At least one crew member in that recording survived; an article I pulled up about flight 1141 said that the captain was alive.

Damn, I looked up the history of most of these recordings and many of the flights killed damn near all the people. Nobody survived that Japanese flight, nobody. And I can't remember which flight it was of all that were listed on that link, but one of the crashes killed every single person except for one little girl. Can you say "source of that 'Unbreakable' movie script with Bruce Willis"? Still, I try not to think of these things often, though I was fascinated by the audio recordings. My dad has been flying for United Airlines for years, fighter pilot of US Air Force before that. The last thing I want is to get a phone call from United after seeing reports of a recent plane crash on the news.....9/11 gave me a real scare till I found out my dad was fine (he was actually scheduled to travel the same route as one of the planes that crashed). But don't live life in fear of these things. I have been on literally hundreds of flights in my life around the world and I'm still just a kid, and I'm still breathin, my dangerous driving tendencies may prevent this however...

They're really fascinating yet i can't understand any of them... They all have really really thick American accents i cannot decipher... Although the quality of sound is very bad.
I saw an episode of aircrash investigation a while ago on the discovery channel... A russian pilot let his son and daughter into the cockpit and let them play with the plane since it was on auto-pilot and they couldn't move the plane even if they turned the wheel. (it was an Airbus but can't remember the model) He let the son sit in the seat and his son was really trying to turn the plane and he held the wheel one way for 30 seconds and the plane turned...
The pilots hadn't been trained that if you keep preassure on the wheel for 30 seconds it overrides the autopilot... So the plane basically fell out of the sky with all of it's passengers and crew... In the black box they could hear the pilots shouting and trying to right the situation... They were fighting with the wheel to level it out... But they also hadn't been trained that in such circumstances if you just let go of the damn wheel the plane will correct itself with no human intervention... Anyway everyone died... I'd like to hear that black box recording, as morbid as that sounds...
