Damn. I am constantly amazed by the spoiled people in this country who cant even appreciate the amazing position we are in right now. We all have the incredible luxury of free speech, and all you anti-war protestors can do with it is make yourselves look like fucking morons. I would love for you all to put down the remote, get your fat ass off the nice couch you have been sitting on for the last few days, avoiding all the protest signs in the room, and go tell one of the marines who are currently lying in a foxhole covered in dust that Bush is a moron, and this war is stupid. I dont care how you justify yourself, but i am damn tired of people bitching about the very country who allows them such incredible opportunity and freedom. Protestors stand in the street, yelling that we shouldnt go into Iraq and remove a regime which takes away every basic human right from its ppl, and tortures and kills anyone in opposition. So basically, those in America right now who are excercising their right to free speech are saying that we shouldnt go into another country and give the oppressed ppl there the same right that the protestors are enjoying. Thats just damn selfish.
And if your an opinionated dumbass that has no idea what's going on, which is most anti-war ppl, don't post a comment. Bush wants the oil? Bush is an idiot? Bush is the lunatic? Please come up with an original comment, and not something that you have read off the cover of newsweek.

Exactly. Anti-War protesters are morons. I seriously can't believe how stupid people can be. It is like they hear the word "war," and the automatically go grab a sign and spend days and days standing in the streets, and obviously don't know what the hell they are doing because they can't even justify themselves. Then they say they will become violent if the government doesn't head them, yes violent peace activists, good job you hypocrites. The recording on ebaum's world is a perfect example, a stupid women trying to argue against an IRAQI IMMIGRANT that Saddam Huissien should not be overthrown by force. And she can't even answer the guy's question, she just stands there giggling like the stupid twit she is. Gee, maybe, just maybe, these protesters can help the economy by GETTING A JOB! Stupid ugly burned out hippies.... arg....

While your arguments are sound, I must point out that war protestors don't protest against war because they don't want Iraq disarmed. They do it because they are anti-war. They don't want people willingly going to kill others and threatening their own lives. Let's face it. War sucks. These people just want there to be peace. They want to continue with peaceful transactions and not let America resort to war. They don't want all of the Iraqi civilians to get caught up in this. America outmatches Iraq severely, and putting innocent Iraqis in danger is what they are fighting against. Putting American soldiers in combat is worth fighting against as well.

Yeah really man, seriously though, what is a bunch of people walking down the street gunna do to change people's minds? I think the only difference is that they're all high on something. And don't they realise they're a bit late?
I think they should put themselves in the soldiers shoes; they are there fighting for they're country and the people in it. They are burned in the day, and frozen in the night. They are in constant danger of a chemical attack and from being shot. They have little to no contact with their friends and families and some of the people in their own country give less support than some of the Iraqi civilians!
My messege to all the protesters out there:
THE ONLY REASON YOU ARE ABLE TO DO WHAT YOU DO IS BECAUSE YOU LIVE IN A COUNTRY THAT WILL ALLOW YOU TO DO SO. GO MOVE OVER TO IRAQ, AND GO DO THAT THERE. YOU WONT LAST THE DAY.....DAMN SMELLY HIPPIES!

Try to think about the bigger picture here, guys: Why the hippies are protesting in the first place. Moving to Iraq wouldn't solve anything for them, and many of them couldn't afford to. Besides, most of them couldn't be put in the soldiers' shoes because they are physically unfit for war. They are doing it to save those who can fight from having to fight!

I live in NY and was stuck in traffic behind one of these peace demonstrations. I was so bored that I actually tried to engage some of these morons in a rational discussion. There were two types of protesters in attendance. The first type was the professional anarchist type who attend all types of demostrations trying to create chaos. They were beyond talking to. The other type was the neo-hippy college students waving signs and singing John Lennon's "Give Peace A Chance." When I tried to point out that the U.N. had been giving peace a chance in Iraq for the past 12 years with no success, they all started chanting "War is not the answer" like demented parrots. When I asked what the answer was, I received no coherent reply. However, I did receive one or two threats and several comments about my mother's sexual practices from these peace lovers.

"neo-hippy college students"
that's funny you should say that, because i have been working up a theory as to why "college" students would demonstrate against common sense...and here is my short synopsis:
when these kids are in high school they are the one who follow the crowd and are easily persuaded to think a certain way...as these kids move on to higher their education, they are fed nothing but empty ideas of a utopia that can be achieved through "talking" to other nations. as these kids are persuaded to think that there is an answer to everything via discussion, they get a couple of followers and before you know it - protesting is fab. once protesting on your free time becomes the "thing to do", you see more and more pseudo-protesters showing up and contributing to the masses of ignorance.
my guess is that once these kids graduate and live life in the real world, they start to side with the republicans and laugh at the thought that they were once arrested for protesting the government that gave them the right to protest..

when I was in college...I'd do stuff that I thought would assist in my pursuit of poonage...maybe that's why these fucktards are protesting...man, I'd hate to turn on the tv to see my son protesting a war that I supported just to bag some nasty ho....but, I digress

Are you fucking kidding me?? When you drive around there are Stop War signs everywhere. Half the people on this board that are pro war didn't even specify where they are from, yet just because a couple of us are from Texas you say we favor war inherently. Right......... why don't you check your facts before you talk shit. And everybody is complaining sooo much about Bush.... where the hell were you on voting day?? Did you think he was going to be a pacifist? come on.....

I could not careless where the fuck bush from, but I will tell you that by that statement you have just showed the whole board how fucking empty you are. You sound like a little kid who screams to be heard, only to follow up with "ummmm...." when given the attention he bitched for…we like to call you people attention whores (http://www.tm001d6792.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/attention4.jpg)
Just because I am from texas, does not mean that I support every fucking thing from here…jack ass

Listen, asshole, I'm not from Texas, I'm from the Bronx. I didn't even vote for Bush. Just because you support our country doesn't mean you're sucking up to anyone. Of course war sucks. But unless you're naieve as a three year old you realize it's sometimes unaviodable. By the way, I spent some time in Texas when I was in the Navy. Most of the people I met seemed pretty smart.

*applause*
this baffles me, maybe you can help me out, droog...I've heard reports of anti-war rallies in of all places...New York!!!...of all cities in this nation; I figure New York would be most ready to start the process to end the plague in the middle east? could you possibly offer any insight at all as to what's going on?

Here's my explanation, Kanism. For the media and most of the country, NYC means Manhattan. Thats where all these protests are held. However, most of those people you see on TV aren't even from NY. They come here to go to school and take jobs here when they graduate. They live in great apartments, make good money, and never stop bitching and complaining about this horrible city and country. The real NYC is the outer boroughs of the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island. This is where the working people, cops, firemen and other people who love this country live. If they tried a protest in any of these neiborhoods they'd have their asses kicked all the way back to their lofts in Manhattan.
This is my opinion, so let me preface by saying that all flames about me talking out my arse or not knowing what I am talking about is hereby nullified because this is only my opinion.
If not one anti-war protester was shown on television or spoken of on television for three straight days, there would be no more war protestors. They all go out and march all day with their signs, keeping one eye searching for the news camera, and then rush home and look for themselves on the evening news.
GOD's opinion.

the sad thing is that the media deticates most of their domestic air time to protesters, not pro-wars...i think that if we americans could see other americans SUPPORTING this great nation, then we could begin to unite and single out the anarchists.
WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO ALL OF THE AMERICANS WHO FLEW THIER USA FLAGS WEEKS AFTER 9-11???!!! HAVE YOU FORGOT YOUR INITIAL CAUSE??!!!

I personally think this whole "peace" movement is just a bunch of kids who wished that they had been alive in the 1960's. I mean back then they were drafting people to fight for a very unpopular war. first of all, in this iraq war nobody is being drafted, and second, this war is said, by polls, to be supported by 70% of the country. so nobody is being drafted and its a popular war. Also i question why many "peace" protests turn violent. i mean its a "peace" protest, and the point of it is to stop violence.

It shouldn't be called a war. War to me, implies that the other nation stands a chance. This is a war just as much as Mike Tyson Versus An Olson Twin is a fight.

The other day I was reading Newsweek magazine and came across some
poll data I found rather hard to believe. It must be true given the source,
right? The same magazine that employs Michael (Qurans in the toilets at
Gitmo) Isikoff. Here I promised myself this week I would be nice and I
start off in this way.
The Newsweek poll alleges that 67 percent of Americans are unhappy
with the direction the country is headed and 69 percent of the country is
unhappy with the performance of the president. In essence 2/3s of the
citizenry just ain't happy and want a change. So being the knuckle dragger I
am, I starting thinking, ''What we are so unhappy about?'' Is it that we
have electricity and running water 24 hours a day, 7 days a week? Is our
unhappiness the result of having air conditioning in the summer and heating
in the winter? Could it be that 95.4 percent of these unhappy folks have a
job? Maybe it is the ability to walk into a grocery store at any time and
see more food in moments than Darfur has seen in the last year?
Maybe it is the ability to drive from the Pacific Ocean to the
Atlantic Ocean without having to present identification papers as we move
through each state? Or possibly the hundreds of clean and safe motels we
would find along the way that can provide temporary shelter? I guess having
thousands of restaurants with varying cuisine from around the world is just
not good enough. Or could it be that when we wreck our car, emergency
workers show up and provide services to help all involved. Whether you are
rich or poor they treat your wounds and even, if necessary, send a
helicopter to take you to the hospital. Perhaps you are one of the 70
percent of Americans who own a home, you may be upset with knowing that in
the unfortunate case of having a fire, a group of trained firefighters will
appear in moments and use top notch equipment to extinguish the flames thus
saving you, your family and your belongings. Or if, while at home watching
one of your many flat screen TVs, a burglar or prowler intrudes; an officer
equipped with a gun and a bullet-proof vest will come to defend you and your
family against attack or loss. This all in the backdrop of a neighborhood
free of bombs or militias raping and pillaging the residents. Neighborhoods
where 90 percent of teenagers own cell phones and computers. How about the
complete religious, social and political freedoms we enjoy that are the envy
of everyone in the world? Maybe that is what has 67 percent of you folks
unhappy.
Fact is, we are the largest group of ungrateful, spoiled brats the
world has ever seen. No wonder the world loves the U.S. yet has a great
disdain for its citizens. They see us for what we are. The most blessed
people in the world who do nothing but complain about what we don't have and
what we hate about the country instead of thanking the good Lord we live
here.
I know, I know. What about the president who took us into war and has
no plan to get us out? The president who has a measly 31 percent approval
rating? Is this the same president who guided the nation in the dark days
after 9/11? The president that cut taxes to bring an economy out of
recession? Could this be the same guy who has been called every name in the
book for succeeding in keeping all the spoiled brats safe from terrorist
attacks? The commander in chief of an all-volunteer army that is out there
defending you and me? Make no mistake about it. The troops in Iraq and
Afghanistan have volunteered to serve, and in many cases have died for your
freedom. There is currently no draft in this country. They didn't have to
go. They are able to refuse to go and end up with either a ''general''
discharge, an ''other than honorable'' discharge or, worst case scenario, a
''dishonorable'' discharge after a few days in the brig. So why then the
flat out discontentment in the minds of 69 percent of Americans? Say what
you want but I blame it on the media.
If it bleeds it leads and they specialize in bad news. Everybody will
watch a car crash with blood and guts. How many will watch kids selling
lemonade at the corner? The media knows this and media outlets are
for-profit corporations.
They offer what sells. Just ask why they were going to allow a
murderer like O.J. Simpson to write a book and do a TV special about how he
didn't kill his wife but if he did .... that was insane!
Stop buying the negative venom you are fed everyday by the media. Shut
off the TV, burn Newsweek, and use the New York Times for the bottom of your
bird cage.
Then start being grateful for all we have as a country. There is
exponentially more good than bad.
I close with one of my favorite quotes from B.C. Forbes in 1953:
''What have Americans to be thankful for? More than any other
people on the earth, we enjoy complete religious freedom, political freedom,
social freedom. Our liberties are sacredly by the Constitution of the United
States, 'the most wonderful work ever struck at a given time by the brain
and purpose of man.' Yes, we Americans of today have been a noble heritage.
Let us pray that we may hand it down unsullied to our children and theirs.''
I suggest we sit back and count our blessings for all we have. If we
don't, what we have will be taken away. Then we will have to explain to
future generations why we squandered such blessing and abundance. If we are
not careful this generation will be known as the ''greediest and most
ungrateful generation.'' A far cry from the proud Americans of the
''greatest generation'' who left us an untarnished legacy.
