Haha, looks like Darkos goin' to play for my long time favorite team, the Magic. They also got Arroyo in exchange for Kelvin Cato and a first round draft pick. This may give Darko a chance to show what he's got....

Yea, at least now he might get more than 2 mins of garbage time. He has some skill and he's only 21. He's got plenty of time. I think he'll do fine eventually...like within 3 years if he backs up this year and starts the next two.

Finally! I'm really glad for Darko. This is good trade for the magic also. Howard is great and still has a ways to improve. Milicic will hopefully now get some minutes with the Magic. Him and Howard might make for a great young duo in the paint. To get Arroyo is good too, he's not a bad player. He is a very good point guard and will help the team. This doesn't look like a good trade for the Pistons, they are going to hope that future draft pick is worth something. Great trade for the magic and Milicic.
They should slide Francis to shooting guard and start Arroyo at point guard. Francis is #3 in the NBA in turnovers per game, #3 in turnovers per 48 minutes and #11 in total turnovers. At the same time, Arroyo is #5 in the NBA assissts-to-turnover ratio is 3.44 (155 assists - 45 turnovers). Francis' assissts to turnover ration is 1.68 (252 assissts - 150 turnovers). That is a big difference. I also think they should start Milicic after a week or so of practices. Battie is playing okay, but Milicic should cut into his minutes big time.

Darko will improve, all big men forigen players do. Look at Zydrunus Illgasukus (spelling) he came in the L in 95 and it took him time to improve, the same will go for Yao also...
EDIT: They Pistons (I think) didnt really give darko a chance.

Hard for Darko to get much of a chance with a premier team like the Pistons. He'll ge tplenty of playing time in Orlando. They'll be really hard up for star power after they trade Stevie Ballgame

EDIT: They Pistons (I think) didnt really give darko a chance. And you would take out who out of the rotation to put Darko in?...................in the NBA Chances are earned NOT given.

Not the best trade, in my opinion. I'm assuming as of now that Dumars has a plan that goes beyond just this trade. (Besides the whole re-signing Ben Wallace stuff.)
Without Arroyo and Saunders reluctant to give Hunter playing time, Dumars must find a backup point guard or Billups will end up playing a hell of a lot more minutes.
Darko deserves more playing time though. He could be a great player if he had the confidence in his team that he would get adequite playing time, and possibly put the same effort as he does during practices. I can't wait to see how Darko will do.

There's no chance that Arroyo will start over Jameer Nelson, that kid is having a huge season.

Joe Dumars mainly made the move in order to make Ben Wallace the highest paid Piston ever and extend Chauncey Billups' contract to a long term, $10 million+ per year deal.
I also don't think Joe is done making moves, but unless he wants to trade that '07 pick (not smart) for a veteran PG, he's just going to have to use Delfino (a relative unknown, he has great court vision, size, and defense, even if he is most effective at the 2 and 3) and Tayshaun Prince until Lindsey is back into 100% game shape.
And Kyrama, Saunders is not reluctant to give Hunter time. He has been out most of the season rehabbing from ankle surgery he had in the offseason. He only started playing recently, and with Arroyo gone, his minutes will steadily increase until he is capable of 15 minutes per game or so.
Milicic gets to start over in Orlando, Arroyo did not fit into the Pistons system (he didn't turn the ball over much, but that was because he'd dribble the shot clock down to 3 seconds and then take an off-balance jumper. He absolutely stagnated the offense when he was out there 80% of the time), Ben and Chauncey will get re-signed without problem. So Joe either has to sign a free agent to fill in for Arroyo the rest of the season, make another trade (doubtful, one possible scenario is trading the 1st round pick for Mike James of the Raptors, who is expected to opt out of his contract after this year), or just wait until the offseason and sign a veteran like Damon Stoudamire, Chucky Atkins, or Speedy Claxton...

im thinking they might ship lindsey hunter and kato out to get a PG, or perhaps the 07 pick and one of those 2 mentioned players. Dunno who would take that trade, and who'd they get

Imagine if Chris Bosh, Dwayne Wade, or Carmelo Anthony were drafted into Detroit...Scary thought.

I did forget about him. He is having a good 2nd year. I think they would do well without Francis, they should trade him also. Nelson and Arroyo as starters.
