Tonight it seems that the no WMP type files are playing in my browser. I can download them OK, but for some reason they are not streaming. :help:

I tried reinstalling WMP v10 to no avail. It is possible a reboot would fix it, but, I hate those kind of fucking problems. . . "Just turn it off wait ten seconds and turn it back on the problem will go away. . ." I'd prefer an explanation of the issue. :boink:

I am going to look into my browser settings for streaming videos and that sort of thing. I am thinking perhaps RealPlayer is Hijacking the videos or something. Although I haven't changed the associations or anything. The videos were working before...I can't think of a reason they aren't now... :ahhh:

I am running the newest version of FireFox, with AdBlocker and a few other extentions, but that has been since the new version came out. I have made sure AdBlocker is not blocking the videos, and it never has.

Anyway, if I find a solution or any other clues I will post it. Any help people can offer up would be good.

Also note that flash type videos will play in my browser. So, for some reason it is WMA encoded files.

This problem is not limited to ebaum's. And not withstanding the reboot issue, I have not done a cold or hard boot.

Thanks,
If this seems like a "n00b" problem, I apologizie,
I've certainly been at this for long enough....

EDIT: I have checked the browser settings. All files that should be associated with WMP are associated to play. So, it shouldn't be Real associated. Annoying catchy problem.

Hopefully this will help you here: Play Embedded WMP files in Firefox (http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=206213)

Just make sure the site you are viewing does infact support embedded wmp files, otherwise when you click a link then it will simply download it, rather than stream it. At least this is my understanding.

You are the man. Apparently IE cannot be set in "Work offline" mode. Why IE relates to Mozilla I can't say...Well, I imagine it's b/c Microsoft wants to make sure nothing works without at least a few elements of his products.

I wonder if there's a lawsuit there. That something won't work in FireFox unless IE is online b/c it therefore forces IE to connect to the internet and that sort of thing. Probably not. And if there was someone already thought of it.

Anyway,
Thanks again!
