Well?

The title speaks for itself. Discuss.

I agree with artreyu... they are GAMES. Sports and games are different.

Isn't an organized competition what sets the difference between a game and a sport? So when playing Chess, football, american football or poker, you could be playing games or sporting...

Living proof right here, good job...screw all your minority loving son of a bitches who think that chess is a damn SPORT.

And yes, using your muscles and engaging in a physical activity is a sport....chess does not require any of these....chess is not a sport, and it's a proven fact.

Same with curling, it looks easy and not demanding but it's tough.

there has to be a line that seperates sport from game. If not, everything is a sport...paper football, pencil fighting, etc. and we all know they aren't. So yeah, Chess is definitely a game, if you can't argue that the participants are athletes, then it can't be a sport, that's my rule of thumb.

But by the way, golf is a hybrid at worst. You can't argue that it's simply a game, I can think of no argument to support that. But I also don't think I'd call it a full out sport...it's a mix, gotta be.
