Well since we have a best qb of all time thread, why not have a best RB thread.
Jim Brown - Obviously, just look at what he did.
Walter Payton - Walter was probablly the most complete back. I'd say he had the most heart out of all the runningbacks. Just watch the way he ran and how he ended his runs with that energy.
Barry Sanders - I really liked Barry. He did a lot of his runs on his own too. I'd say probablly the best playmaker ever.
Gale Sayers - Just watch him. Sure you could say that the defense sucked back then and yeah it wasn't as good. But back in the day they didn't have all the workout machines and the supplements people take nowadays. He did have the best moves imo. It's sad that he only got to play for a couple years though. The best kickoff returner in nfl history too.
And yeah I just realized I forgot Marcus Allen and I know he should be on the poll...but people make mistakes.
Also, if you think someone else is worthy to be one of the best then just say their name.

Barry Sanders. Carried the whole franchise in the 1990s.

emmitt smith is overrated...sure he had some skill but anyone could run behind that line and do what he did...

Barry Sanders, Jim Brown, Walter Payton - I don't think any of them really need an explaination.
After this we need a "Best football player of all time" thread.

How many people are we allowed to vote for?
And Barry Sanders is the greatest running back to ever play, without question.

I am shocked to see Barry Sanders not getting the most votes.

I too was wondering how many we were supposed to vote for, and I also agree that Sanders is pretty clearly the best ever.

I only picked four...I should've said to only pick four but it's alright, the best will get the most votes.
I am kinda surprised that Gale hasn't gotten as many votes...
I figure I'll make another thread with the top 4 later on. But I think someone should make some best defensive player threads.

I'm kinda surprised that Walter didn't get as many votes. I figured if someone would vote for Barry or Jim they'd vote for Walter.
And yeah OJ was real good. It's kinda sad that he isn't know for what he did on the field and his career but instead for that case. A lot of people will forget about OJ's career. I remember watching a story on OJ a while back on outside of the lines. USC has pretty much just turned their back on OJ now. Whenever OJ visited USC while they were practicing for the Orange Bowl years back a lot of the old USC players were angry at Pete Caroll for allowing him to come.

Yep, no love for OJs football career because of his personal issues, hey the guy was guilty, obviously, but lets not take away his talent of the game, I think he was the fourth greatest running back to ever play, thats something that should never be taken away from him.
