I have a co-worker basically saying he doesn't give the kid any credit, because they other team wasn't even attempting to block him.

I disagree, it's a great video. I congradulate him.

Even if they weren't blocking him, that shit is amazing.

I don't think I would be blocking the boy either. I'de want him to have his fun. The team was really far behind anyway.

Hell, even if they aren't blocking him, getting a bunch of three-pointers in a row isn't exactly easy.

that autistic kid summoned the wetaded force and said "duper shotz" then he went on to make 20 points. The wetaded force is stwong wit him. Plus he has nice aim.

yea and even if they didnt block him to start with, youd figure they would start after he made one or 2 3's in a row let alone 20 points total.

hahaha for somereason i thought of an awkward funnier movie after reading your posts, one of the kids on the other team fucking slams the ball in his face by blocking him, and the whole gymnasium rushes to kick the shit out of the asshole.

For those saying he wasn't blocked... look at the NBA All Star Weekend's 3-Point Shootout... I believe the winner made 16 out of 25 3 pointers in the final round, correct? This kid made 6 out of 7 in the only chance he had ever gotten in his life. I think he had felt more pressure and more nerves than any of us could imagine, and he did his thing. Better than any of us could do.

I know for a fact that I couldn't make 6 trey's in a row even if nobody else were around and I had time to set up and shit. His first game and he made more points in 4 minutes than most NBA players make in one game. Even if he wasn't blocked, you make 6/7 three's in 4 minutes.

NBA players miss wide open 3's once in a while. i know i cant make even 3 threes in a row. anyone making fun of this kid should be banned. And for the people calling the kid a "retard" you should look at your self cause he isnt "retarded" hes autistic. Autistic people are jsut as smart as other people they just have trouble expressing themselves and have poor communication abilities. You sir are the retard.

What's so special about this? He's autistic not crippled. How would autism negatively affect his basketball skills?

It wouldn't. People find this story fascinating because they believe it should.

My little sister is Autistic. And yes this can have a huge impact on their eye/hand coordination. She can barely hold a pencil to write. There are huge variations of Autism. But it is complicated to explain and I could pack a book full of everything I know about the subject. I saw the clip on the news about this kid and I say more power to him, I think it would make a great movie.

There are huge variations of Autism.Oh yeah, you're right. I knew that, but I forgot. I don't think it should even be classified as one condition, they realy need to separated into a dozen different things.

Good for him!!!

The only bad thing is this:
Is he really that good, or was it just a fluke.
If it was a fluke, it'd be awful if he started playing full-time and sucked. :wah:

Or if they didnt play him at all ever again:wah:

Still, he must've been pretty happy!!

Well they do when they are diagnosed, but yeah it is so complicated the different extremes. I mean some people know Autism by rainman, but not every autistic person has those type of capabilities with numbers or play concert piano ect. Some have mental retardation along side of being Autistic. But I think that kid probably practiced at home all the time and was really into the game, and you could tell he was on the mild side of autistic. No maybe it doesn't make him a hero, so he is a bit of a celebrate for it, good for him.

it's not about his skill as a basketball player, it's about his passion for something and the way the whole communitty supported him and hoped that something like this would happen... and it did. Doesn't get much better than that.

nope...I just don't see why they ask for us to treat them the same but when I make fun of them like every other human on this earth, I am expected to feel bad. When they admit they are inferior, I will stop bustin their balls. But until then DEE DA DEEEEEE.

He never asked anyone to treat him differently you dumbass, he had worked with the team for a long time helping the coach out, it was a last minute deceision to let him play.

People with learning disablities don't want to be put on a pedestal, jesus all they want it to be treated like everyone else.

And I hate to repeat myself, but the kid is not retarded he is autistic, there is a difference.
