Lately, i've been listening to samba, spanish jazz, and shakira(lol). Even though i don't understand it, i like the rhythms and overall the way it sounds.

I know that a few people listen to jPop etc. so who9 else listens to music where they don't know what the fuck they are singing about?

Sometimes I wish I couldn't understand some power metal lyrics  .

But seriously, I was listening to some Indian classical the other day, I once learnt all the words from La Bamba by ear without having the slightest clue what they meant, and of course there's Mars Volta as well as opera.

I have no qualms listening to anything which isn't in English - especially when German lyrics are useful for making evil sounding music.

And I am very keen on listening to more French music, so I can enjoy it while learning even more French. My French teacher once showed us some music from Morocco (French speaking country in Africa) and it was quite pleasant.

Given the title of this thread, I thought you meant music beyond one's intellectual capabilities. Seeing as you meant language, I listen to avant garde bands such as Can where it's extremely difficult to understand what's being said anyway, 'Kraut' bands that sing in German, choral music sung in Latin, a few French rappers and some African folk music.

I listen to music that I can't tell what they're saying, but not music in other languages.

Rammstein seems to be the only band that really comes to mind... also some Santana.

I own the O-Zone cd. (numa numa.)
I went a little overboard with the online shopping and bought about 7 kpop cds of which I've probably only listened to an eighth of their total length.
Josh Groban sings in a few different languages, and he's awesome.

I'm pretty interested in music from other cultures. I'm looking to have a pretty extensive collection someday. And music in another language can give a completely different experience than music you understand. I like not having to concentrate on the words and just listening to the feel of the song.

Hell there is some music that I listen to in English and can't understand. Take Cradle of Filth for intense. Half the time I have no clue what the are saying. There are some others, but I like to keep them a secret.

ADX sings in French.
Windir sings in Saognamaol, a dialect of Norwegian.
Therion sings in whatever this is: "Fader Ymer drack fran urkon
En strom av mjolk som gav oss liv" :help:

Given the title of this thread, I thought you meant music beyond one's intellectual capabilities.
That's what I thought as well.

Therion sings in everything. Even latin at times.

I'm pretty sure that's Swedish, though.

Ah, thanks. I remembered hearing that they sung in Latin, but I looked at that and thought "that is not Latin".

Stan Getz & Joao Gilberto's album is in some other language.. not sure what the hell it is, sounds like French to me.

Plus I tune out rock lyrics half the time.

Most of the stuff I listen to, I can understand. But there are quite a lot of bands that I don't understand (mostly death metal like Cryptopsy, Nile, Mithras, Necrophagist etc.) Not being able to understand the lyrics doesn't hurt the song in any way.

I guess some of the songs of Dimmu Borgir are pretty hard to understand,
Rammstein isnt so hard for me because german has some simularities with dutch.

i usually listen to manu chao, he sings in spanish, english, french, poroguesse and arabic, i highly recommend it. theres to cds that i suggest hearing, one is "proxima estacion" it has a carribean feel to it, i guess its perfect to listen to while stoned and 'clandestino' has more rural mexican vilalge feel to it, both are awesome, i would listen to clandestino on a scorching hot summer day and proxima estacion when i go to the beach. its awesome music, i highly recommend it.
