In the words of many female African American's, "Oh HELL No!". :) This is a perfect example, as someone stated earlier, of why kids NEED physical discipline occasionally. It teaches them who the boss is, and it teaches them to respect the boss. I have two kids, and like most, they aren't perfect, but they know that I lay down the law in my house, and they can push me to a point, but eventually there will be a price for their actions. This little hell beast has probably never been spanked, because he has no fear of his parents. By fear I don't mean that he should be terrified of mommy and daddy, but he needs to have the fear that if he does something wrong, he's going to get punished. What this kid needs right now is for someone from outside the situation to come in and put him in line, PRONTO. Then train the parents how to deal with him and to get physical if necessary.

For those who care ..
this is taken from a german tv show called "Die Supernanny".
It's a show where families who have some problems with their children receive help by a profesional educationist.
It's also a show that is constantly quoted by some comedyshows.

By the way, most of the problems in those families where evoked by the parents beating the shit out of the children or at least behaving like a prick towards them. In this case however, I don't remember what the matter was.

I second that wholeheartedly! My parents spanked me and my two brothers often as children, and all three of us are normal, well adjusted adults. The problem with the youth of today is that too many of them weren't ever spanked.

I think the problem with kids today isn't that they aren't being spanked, but instead that people didn't come up with an alternative discipline to spanking. When you watch shows like nanny 911 and supernanny and all that stuff, it seems to work. I know its a tv show, and they probably glam it up a bit, but there has got to be an ounce of truth to it. You can't send kids to their rooms these days, cause they've got so much junk in them.

Oh no, that's not what I'm saying at all roccenstein. I can see how that was a bit confusing actually lol. I dont' think that spanking will completely fuck over your kid, but I also believe there is a useful alternative to spanking..... does that make more sense? When I mentioned that the father spanked the kid, it wasn't meant to contradict that. Some kids are just fucked to begin with. A lot of times it seems the reason kids get bratty isn't because punishments aren't put in to place, its usually because they aren't KEPT in place. If you say there are going to be certain concequences for a child's actions, then you have to stick with it. Many parents don't stick with it just to avoid confrontation from their children. I personally don't have a problem with spanking, but I'd rather be able to have an alternative. Which leads me to say I agree with the part of your post where you state "just because you can reproduce, doesn't mean you should". You are absolutely right. There are too many invalids out there who are also parents.
