Hi there, I'm new to this forum. For all you David Gilmour (Pink Floyd) fans, he has a new album coming out called "On An Island" March 7th. There's a contest where you can win a trip to see David live in LA, plus an autographed guitar. Here's the link:

the album is pretty damn good
its really annoying tho becuse on every review I have read they have compared it to other Floyd albums which is totally unfair
in its own rights its more than likley going to be the best album of 2006

Yeah, I agree. When I first got the album I wasn't too into it, but the more I listened to it the more I enjoyed it, and it is actually a really good album. I have the song Take A Breath stuck in my head.

I just picked up this album and after two runs through my first impression are this: One of my favorite Pink Floyd solo albums. It has a very mellow feel to it and the bluesy guitar playing really reminds me of meddle/wish you were here. Great guitar solos, great music, excellent vocals! Guest appearences by David Crosby, Graham Nash, and Richard Wright. Highly recommended if you're into mellow stuff. 4 and a half stars outta 5

Waters is way better, but this new Gilmour album isn't half bad... I'll just say it's a lot better than Gilmour's other solo albums. Gilmour's new album does sound a lot like Pink Floyd from the Meddle and Obscured By Clouds era.
