Sad day, Kirby was a great player.

Great player but a great person as well. One of my favorites at the time, reminded me of Tony Gywnn in a lot of ways...looks mostly.

He was robbed from us but hopefully he can rest now.

Really, really sad, but nobody could have seen this coming. It sucks when the class-act guys are taken too early and the bottomfeeders get to live on for awhile.

Does anybody know if this has any connection to when he got drilled in the head? Dave Martinez wasn't it? I know they were pretty good friends and the hit had something to do with his eye trouble, so it isn't beyond the realm of possibility that a head trauma could have had something to do with this stroke right? That was my initial thought when I heard he had a stroke but I haven't read anything backing that up...

wow, i almost teared up after hearing, i loved kirby, always was a great guy.



RIP Kirby, in heaven im sure theres a baseball diamond buddy.

This really does suck. It sounded like he was turning his life around after going crazy for a while. And how can it be that the media can't agree on when he was born (60/61?) I'm going with 60.

ummm im sorry that he died, but how was he a great person, he beat his wife and kids?

kirby pucket was an oustanding player, but he abused his wife and was having an affair for 18 years before he died. but i agree he was pretty young
