This has to be the stupidest fucking idea ever. Im sure they think theyre really on to something here. You basically type a cd you want, and you can trade your cds with people that have the one you want.
This is amazing.
I think ill stick to limewire.

Everytime you download music for free not only are you taking from your favorate artist, but you are also eliminating opportunities for other good new artist who come out to be successful since thier next record deal comes from the amout of albums they sold. This leaves room so only pop bands who get all their money from MTV and don't sell that many albums

This is kind of like all those people that come to the forums to rant about eBaum stealing stuff. You're preaching stuff that everyone already knows, and it's not going to change anything. I'm not trying to justify downloading music, I'm just pointing out facts as they are.

People actually download some songs, if they like the band really much, maybe they'll offer the cd as a gift or for themselves or more likely go to their concert which is where bands win the most money.

Downloading hasn't changed the amount of CDs that I buy, I now just have a bunch of CDs that I would never have shelled out money for, and occaisionally I find something great and go buy it as a reward to the artists for not sucking.

If a band is good enough, they'll sell enough albums to continue making music. If they suck so bad that everyone's downloading their shit and not buying the albums, then who cares if they continue making music. That's my [awesome] theory.

The fact of the matter is the companys dont offer anything really good in the CD's package other than the songs, a booklet with (maybe) Lyrics and thanks.
I would offer contests like free concert tickets for every 100 CDs, make interesting. Korn's last CD offered a free one year membership to their offical fanclub where you can listen to some old rarities or unreleased songs.

Thank you. But people like you and me are few and far between.

For me at least, I think that downloading has increased my cd buying. I'll download a couple of tracks and then usually buy the cd. If I like it enough, I'll buy more albums from the same band. And the tracks that I usually download come straight from the band's website.

Ah, Kellenator, your avatar and title! Edgar! I still can't believe they killed him off. Though, personally, I think he's still alive; there's simply too much fat on him for the gas to penetrate. But in the event that I'm wrong, R.I.P. Edgar indeed.
Oh, uh, yes, anyways, back on to topic.
