So the question is in the thread title. Who is the most important NBA player to his NBA team? Who makes the most impact on his team and without him on his team, the team would likely have half as many wins as they do now? Is it Kobe? Is it Nash? Is it LeBron? Who contributes more to their team than anyone else?

the best contributor for any team is definately paul peirce he leads the team in just about everything. he makes so many buzzer shtos to win the game. without him, the celtics would be a terrible team

Go back to Springfield, homer...just because he's played the best since later last year, doesnt make him the most important player, or even in the top 15.

Obviously, the answer is no one, the NBA is flawed, pointless, boring, and if you have the best/most important player in the NBA, it wont make a difference because of their supporting cast...thats how the NBA works, Garnett, Kobe, James..it doesnt matter how important they are, their team wont win a championship, they wont go far in the playoffs (if they make it), so it's pointless.

Then why did you come to this thread if you think the NBA is pointless and boring?

Because the title of this thread isnt "NBA fans only".

I can say what I want, when I want, and how I want. I gave my opinion, my opinion is there is no most important player in the NBA.

I started this thread and here's my answer. First off, I want to say that my favorite player in the league is "Flash" aka Dwayne Wade, but here is my answer.

I truly believe that Paul Pierce CONTRIBUTES more to his team than any other star in the NBA. Paul Pierce leads his team in 3pt made, 3pt att., FG made, FG att, BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, HE ALSO LEADS HIS TEAM IN POINTS, FREE THROWS, REBOUNDS, ASSISTS AND STEALS. As important as LeBron and Kober are, they don't contribute the same way Pierce does to his team. Nash is closer than LeBron and Kobe are as the most important person on his team. That's why I, too, must agree that Paul Pierce is more important to his team than any other player in the league is to their own respective team. Unless you can find another player who leads the team in all those important categories (on offense and defense), then there's no way it can't be Paul Pierce. He may not be as flashy or as hyped as other players but he's having his best year to date and is doing more for his team than anyone else. Nash is great but he's still just playing his position, and that is a PG. Pierce is playing PG, SG, SF, and PF (PF by pure virtue that he leads his team in rebounding) for his team. The only thing he isn't doing is leading for his team is really blocking but besides the blocking, he's doing everything for the team.

Nash- Carrying the team without Amare

Emm...Shawn Marion?

I'm gonna say Kobe. Even though people say he hogs the ball, the Lakers wouldn't be as good without him. I think Parker and Odem are doing a good job this season though.

Shawn Marion is a great player but he doesn't have the leader mentality that Nash does. Nash is also more clutch late in games. Marion may contribute more points and boards though.

Paul Pierce leads his team in 3pt made, 3pt att., FG made, FG att, BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, HE ALSO LEADS HIS TEAM IN POINTS, FREE THROWS, REBOUNDS, ASSISTS AND STEALS. Until AI can do that, there's no way he contributes more to his team than Pierce does.

I wonder why...Maybe because Paul Pierce is the only decent player on the Celtics. The only other player on the team that is worth a jock strap is Sczerbiak and the reason he doesn't lead in any of those categories is because he just joined the team a month ago.

Id say Duncan. With him the Spurs are championship calibur each and every year, without him they struggle to make the playoffs.

LeBron. If you add his points and assists that leads to 50.1% of his teams points (Taken off FSN Ohio.) That is the most in the NBA. You can't argue with that.

Paul Pierce hands down

You got to be kidding me.

Quit marching around promoting your shitty Boston teams, they blow.

Paul Pierce is a great player, but NO LEADER. Last time we saw Boston a top team in the East was in the days of Antoine Walker. And don't bring up and #3 seed garbage because the Atlantic Division blows.

Pierce will need a complementary player who can score atleast 20 ppg if he ever wants to be on a winning team. As for right now my vote goes to LeBron James. The Cavaliers would be nowhere without him.

Other honorable mentions include Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming (when they finally came back from injury, Rockets started winning), Kobe Bryant (basically the entire Lakers team) and Allen Iverson.

What kind of question is this?

Without Kobe the Lakers drop to the bottom of the Western Conference. Hell, without Kobe they become an instant favorite for worst record in the NBA. Lamar can not lead a team, Kwame is nothing, Smush wouldn't play a a game if he was on almost any other team, and ANdrew Bynum is just too young.

The only person I could think of who is almost as importan to his respective team is LeBron James.

The Hornets wouldn't even be thinking playoffs without Chris Paul, but you could make the same arguement for Bryant and the Lakers.

Except Paul actually makes the players around him better.

im going to say this to whoever said peirce would need to be on a 20 plus point kinda guys team to be a playoff threat, RICKY FUCKIN DAVIS. anyways celtics have A LOT of young talent.
Al Jefferson
Gomes
West
Greene

in a couple of eyars they're going to dish peirce and make a move for a dominant big man, or draft picks, perice is gettin old, and is no way the msot important player on any NBA team

my pick for that goes to none other than steve nash. Look at what he's done without amare this year, new peices but the same thing happens. they win constantly, remeber the game he was out against the spurs and they got shit rocked, yea without nash the team has no identity
