The USA may have enough oil for the next 95 years (though I SEVERELY doubt it) they still need to secure Iraq because its the biggest source of untapped petroleum in the world.

Being welcomed? LOL A few idiots in Southern Iraq welcome them and they run the footage all day. What about the civilians who took up arms against them in Umm Qasr? What about the children and teenagers who were wounded in the bombings and lost family and swore revenge against any marine who entered Baghdad? The endless parades of people grieving their loved ones and saying they will fight the Americans with sticks if they have to.

There may be some people welcoming the troops, but after the war is over they will be executed. That's how you rule a country.

Umm... there are Iraqi troops in civilian clothes using guerilla tactics... and breaking the rules of war by pretending to be welcoming civilians then attacking. They are also pretending to surrender, then pulling out handguns. Some actual civilians may be resisting, likely from because the Iraqi SS will kill them if they dont, or because they are a member of the Baath party.

Could you please explain what a dumb redneck is to me, becuase I may be dumb, but I'm far from a redneck.... I'm assuming you've never had any military experience from your comments made, becuase if you understood what the geneva (sp?) convention and rules of war were you'd understand that it's to help protect civilians and keep things to a controlled state, as far as the POW's comment goes, I hope you die by getting dunked in a tank of feces and have acid slowly poured in small amounts over your body, then are allowed to heal enough so it can last longer then you would be able to remember.
