Never should the champs not be ranked #1 throughout spring training. Until the REAL season starts, the champs are the champs.

Yea I agree. I think when the Red Sox won they were ranked #1 going into Spring Training.

Hey good to see you back. Watch out for those Tigers . And the Blue Jays are overated if you ask me.

oh the blue jays are highly overratted. glaus hits for a low average, overbay has been declining in average over the past few years, bj ryan is getting like a million dollars per career save, and who knows what burnett will do. haliday is money though----if he stays healthy.

on the other side of the coin i think the red sox have too many "ifs." will schilling and foulke be in the 2004 forms? is crisp ready to play in a big market and hit leadoff? what is lowell going to do? can nixon stay healthy?

i think that this should be a very good season in major league baseball. and watch out for the brewers.

Dayn Perry is an idiot, read any of his articles about baseball are about how great the Cardinals and White Sox are, and since he's from Detroit he still believes that the Tigers are the true team to beat in the AL Central, and he really hates for some reason the Cubs and Astros.

That was the list from the end of last season. This (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/powerranking) is the list from a few weeks ago.

My sleeper pick is the Diamondbacks. They have the best young talent in the game.

I was a little suspicious when I was reading about the Red Sox and it said
While Theo is gone, there's a distinct possibility they'll lose Johnny Damon and Manny Ramirez as well.

i dont agree with either of those guys' number 1's. Id put the Yankees at the top, unfortunately, because I hate them with a passion. But with that lineup its pretty hard to disagree.

Until the regular season starts, the champs are the champs and deserve to be at #1, and no one else.

Uh, hey dipshit..you said you think the Yankees should be #1...and I said they should be, because they are the champs, no matter what experts say, it's disrespectful if they arent.

Is that healthy? My pick is the Indians over the A's in the ALCS. The Red Sox and Yankees have too many question marks.(although I don't think Beckett is as big of a problem as everyone thinks) The Indians have great balance and they're young, making them hard to beat. The A's have the best starters in baseball, and that will carry them very far.

Why does everything think they Indians are so good?...besides jim because hes a blatant cleveland homer.

It is hard to be a Cleveland homer when you like the Red Sox. The reasons I like the Indians to win:
1. Great pitching staff. C.C. and Lee are 2 top of the rotation starters. Paul Bryd and Jake Westbrook are both underrated, and Jason Johnson is a good #5 starter. The bullpen was solid last year, and they didn't make any big changes, so you'd expect it to be the same this year.
2. The offense. Sizemore, Victor Martinez, Jhonny Peralta and Andy Marte are all superstars in the making, and Hafner is already one of the best. Jason Michaels is great for OBP. No automatic outs in that lineup.
3. Very good defense. Crisp was the best defensive LF in baseball last year. Replacing him with somebody that was an above average CF, should be a wash. Sizemore has great range, as well as Peralta. As long as Hafner is a DH, they should have a top 5 defense.

How can anyone think the Indians are not good? How can anyone think the Yankees are the best team?
Damon just got hurt, so that means Bernie will be the CF until he gets back.(not sure when that will be.) The offense is clearly solid, but the pitching is very questionable. Johnson has had a nagging back problem for a while and had a terrible HR/IP rate last year. Mussina is old, declining, and is becoming injury-prone. Pavano had 1 good year. In that year he was pitching in one of the best pitchers park, with one of the best defenses this decade. He is also injury-prone and hurt at the moment. Wright has never been good, and he had a major injury last year. Chacon, I think will be their best pitcher this year. And then there is Mr. I Have Small Peripherals Wang. He, according to the numbers was one of the luckiest pitchers in baseball last year. His BABIP and ERA3, and DIPS, and WHIP all make him out to be a 5.00 ERA pitcher.
