I know a lot of you have a thing against Trivium, but check it out anyway. I also know that there are those of us here who are fans of Trivium and would appreciate this. Being a fan of Trivium myself, I think it's fucking great.

And before the flaming starts, let me say that I do NOT see Trivium as the next Metallica. I just see them as another kick ass band.

Wow, I'm actually very impressed. I was just cringing at the thought of the vocals when the intro ended, but with the first few lyrics spoken, I was very impressed.

Shit, if I ever wanted to hear a cover of Master of Puppets, this would have to be it. Thanks a lot.

God damn, that little clean interlude kicks so much ass. Still one of my favorite pieces ever.

I'm looking forward to Orion though. That is such an awesome instrumental song.

Glad you like it! I'm also going to note that I showed this to my brother, who hates Trivum, and he fuckin loved this cover. Peace

One of the better Metallica covers out there, but it doesn't make me want to listen to the rest of the album, or buy anything by Trivium; going by the other tracks on their myspace, they seem decidedly average.

That was a pretty good cover there. I like how the drums are more prominent in this one as opposed to the original.

Simply put..

Fucking great.

Heard mixed shit about trivium, are they actually a thrash band?

Yeah, they get pegged as metalcore all the time because they're American and their singer yells like a faggot, but their style is very thrashy.

hmm, they are talented in their playing. However, I am disappointed that they changed nothing.

They played it exactly like Metallica did, atleast tried to, and they did pretty damn good.

But for me, a cover should be taking a song to another world, like Hendrix did with All Along the Watchtower.

Regardless, it was a good cover.

Yeah, that was my exact reasoning behind it being a good cover, and not a great cover.

Shame that I've heard the rest of the tribute was poor, this song is really good. Fightstar's cover is getting bad reviews.

They played that on their UK tour, which i went to and it was amazing live.

Great cover. Trivium has a good mix of old metal in their own albums. I just wish the singer wouldn't scream like the rest of these screamo idiots today. The sad thig is that the screamo shit is the most marketable today.

good thing he is going to sing like he does in this song in the new album.

Machine Head's cover of 'Battery' is fucking awesome. I have possession of the album, so if you want to know how any of thie tracks are, just ask.

Mastodon's take on Orion is not nearly heavy enough, and sounds really dulled down. The Metallica version owns this one. I was dissapointed by this one, as I thought it was going to be the gem of the cd.

Fightstar's cover of Leper Messiah is fucked up. The music's not bad, but the vocals are fucking horrendus.

Not bad, though if you're going to play a cover make it somewhat your own by adding some of your own ideas to it. Not to nitpick, but it seems like it was played too fast, and the guitar solo lacked punch when compared to the original. It just seemed too clean cut.
