Did anybody else watch Family Guy tonight and see them put Peter Griffin in place of this guy:

I didn't think it was very funny because I knew where they stole it from. Eh, though it's not like we can really complain about stolen content, right? If it's on the internet it's pretty much a free for all. Family Guy also paradied that "You Just Got Kicked in the Nuts" guy which I've seen online somewhere. The annoying part to me is that most people watching just think this stuff is original material when it isn't.

You then almost have to question other gags they do. Even if you haven't seen it in an internet clip, they might have stolen it from somewhere else.
I still love Family Guy, though.

Der, how do you know that it was stolen instead of an homage understood only to people who have seen the video to indicate that Peter is mentally retarded?
Sometimes I wonder about you guys. You probably also think that when the black guy turned into the panther they were ripping off Michael Jackson's Black and White video.
Plagerism is different from homage. Know the difference!

Come on, it's Family Guy. 90% of their jokes are pop culture references from the last 20 years.
Didn't you see the episode where Brian sang the Peanut Butter Jelly Time song to cheer up Peter?

South Park should talk. Faux-punk iconoclastic bullshit.

South Park always bases their episodes on current events, it's not like what it used to be. Now they're always just "speaking their minds" in each episode rather than making jokes. So that family guy spoof wasn't even that funny.
Family guy it's self is still funny though. I don't care if their content is stolen, jesus christ, anyone who isn't on the internet 24/7 and hasn't seen every single video or flash animation wouldn't care about this so called stolen content.

actually i think its funny that they copy everything, if you didnt know where it came from im sure youd be thinking "WTF ARE THEY ON!?!?!" if you get what they are copying from then it adds to the appeal of it

Exactly. If they were pretending it was their own idea, it would make no fucking sense at all.
The only reason it's potentially funny is that it's from somewhere else to begin with. This way, you can sit there and laugh at the fact that one of the writers saw the same little obscure thing you did and thought to put it on the show.
Almost the entire show is a parody of or reference to some pop culture thing. Without the original content, such parodies or references would be impossible.

Exactly. I think the fact that Family Guy also features original stories about Peter's family causes a lot of people to miss the fact that the show's main point is parody.

Did anyone else catch that the voice of the guy from the minimart in that episode of Family guy was Carl from Aqua teens? His name was Carl in FG too. It made me happy.

I've seen that argument before, on this god-awful site. (http://familyguysteals.blogspot.com/) Basically that Stewie argument is the only one worth reading. In my opinion, while it's really similar, I'm still willing to believe it's probably a coincidence. I mean, the similarity is that we have a baby with a football shaped head that uses big words, but the similarity ends there. Possibly this was stolen, but who ever heard about this character until this accusation came out? It seems unlikely that anyone from Family Guy had heard of him either.
Check out the rest of that blog for a good laugh though. They claim Brian is a rip off of Snoopy and they they stole the Grim Reaper from South Park!

The only thing funny about that episode was the Burger king bit. The rest was just crap. I think they ran out of ideas so they just scraped together some stuff that wasn't good enough for other episodes.

Yes I did see it. The original thing is annoying the second time you watch it, so I didn't find the family guy thing very amusing. Thumbs down to who ever made the damn thing in the first place.
