The Daily Show

Let me first say that I'm glad to find a message board of intelligent Americans. Sometimes it seems that this country is overrun with liberals without morals, guts, or responsibility. Then I find places like this board, the Rush Limbaugh program, and FOX News that remind me that those liberals are just the vocal minority.

Back to my thread title, I have been unable to watch a full episode of the Daily Show. Thinking back a couple of years, I can barely remember a time when I used to watch and enjoy the show. Since the election campaign for Bush however, the focus of the Jon Stewart-led show has become exclusively and blatently anti-Bush, anti-Republican, and anti-conservative. I literally cant watch it and refuse to watch it.

Why is it that Comedy Central keeps this crap on when they cancel more entertaining shows like the Upright Citizens Brigade and my personal favorite, Strangers with Candy?

While I applaud your grasp of two of the finest comedy shows ever to be "extremely cancelled", remember that they were anti-Clinton while he was around. The Daily Show is there to poke fun at the establishment, whoever it may be, so please try not to let your own personal partisanism get in the way of an entertaining show.

I love Jon Stewart. The man's much better than Kilborn

Witty sarcasm and satire are weapons of the left. The daily show is essentially a TV version of "The Onion", which is also hilarious, but definitely a voice of the left.

Talk radio and a slightly angered presentation of cold, hard fact is the weapon of the right.

I watch it purely for entertainment and try to not vomit when they talk about politics. To be fair, they do make fun of democrats a lot. But then they pull things like actually getting Gebhart to come on for an interview. They should try to interview Tom Delay... that would be awesome.

they've interviews Republicans too.. admittedly not as many. I get the feeling that they wouldn't want to be seen on a show that is currently making more fun of them than Democrats.

I've seen them interview Bill O'Reilly on a couple of occasions.

O'reilly is an independant pragmatist.

Hell, he believes in more gun control...

The daily show has democrats interviewd like michael moore and dick gebhart... the republicans that come on arent nearly as major. To be fair, they would have to have tom delay and rush limbaugh come on. But that would actually strongly support republicans =P.

Well, if we're going to be fair, I guess none of us can really say whether or not they've tried to get such people on the show or not. Maybe Rush is a bit hesitant to appear on a show that has made fun of him before.

And you're right, I have seen a lot of really important Democrats lately. For example, they's have Joe Lieberman on twice. But being fair again, they make fun of the man A LOT.

i love the O'reilly factor (sp?)
i often wonder what life would be for his kids....O'reilly seems like the type that will never be wrong

If rush refused an offer it would more likely be because he is borderline deaf than anything else.
