I wonder how many of you have actually been around children on a regular basis. I know how to act around children; I have volunteered at daycares, youth gymnastics centres, and have babysat children of many of my parent's friends, so I know that doing what that guy did in the video is an absolutely unacceptable way to act around a 3 year old child.

Refuse hit it right on the nail on the first page. The mind of a child is very susceptible to changes in its environment, and any significant change will adversely affect the child's mental development.

Yes, of course that child was scared by what the guy was doing - any 3 year old child would be. If the same guy did that to a teenager ten years older, it wouldn't matter much. Unlike the toddler, the teenager's mind has had time to develop concepts of right and wrong, real and imaginary, and hostile and peaceful intentions of people. The teenager, knowing that the hypothetical "monsters" are not really there, would think that the guy was just being an idiot; however, the toddler does not have the mental capability to judge the older person's actions, so his mind would perceive what the guy is saying as a real threat, and would react adversely to what the guy was saying.

Here's a little experiment for all of you who thought that this video was funny in the slightest: go volunteer at a child care centre, or anywhere that there are children present (such as those that I mentioned in the first paragraph), and learn to understand how children's minds work. I'm not saying you have to, I'm just saying it might change your views a little. Or maybe you don't even have to go that far. Just talk to your parents, and ask them what they think of that video.

I strongly suggest that you all do a little research before you make statements like that.

He is not an adult, nor is he a child, he is barely alive. He can no longer speak. For a time, he could let out short moans, but those have recently stopped.

I can not say where he is being held, but I can tell you this. Three times a day he is taken out of his bed, placed in a wheel chair, and strolled through a park. While doctors believe this will have no affect on him, his mother insists. He is feed through a tube, his mind far to gone to eat on his own. At night, in order to get him to sleep, he must be sedated. He has absolutely no physical response to anything. Doctors have only found one way to make him have any form of a response....
