Hmm, thats where it is from... I see your point but think about it that way:
You live in Japan and visit ebaums. "Meh, boring, have seen that on TV a thousand times"
So, why not present something for those not living in the US (UK, Japan, China,...)

I agree, however, the point here is that the very end, which identifies it as a promo for the Sci-Fi channel has been cut off, leading people to believe it's just a video some guy made. Usually when you see commercials on the 'net, they're complete and uncut.

It's not really a commercial, it's more of a bumper that the Sci-Fi channel shows right before they return to whatever show is currently playing. They have a whole series of different little clips like this.

I don't see why this is any worse than him ripping off other people's flash animations, short films, videos etc and erasing credit to insert his own label. There certainly are enough people pissed about their content being stolen and put on here. It's pretty cheap and pathetic, but it brings it all to one place where it's easier to watch (if you havn't already seen it somewhere else.)
It's him who's going to have to deal with the lawsuits (how has he managed thus far?) and might as well sit back and enjoy. occasionally.

Yeah, but I have no problem with him "borrowing" content from the 'net. It's impossible to copyright stuff and it's all just floating around for anyone to grab. This, on the other hand, is a commercial from a national cable channel, that's conveniently had it's identifying segment snipped off at the end. All these dumbass crybabies from ytmnd are unlikely to ever do anything about their "stolen" content, but I'd be wary of using stuff like this if I were Ebaum...

I could totally be wrong about this, so feel free to find out and prove me wrong, but I'm pretty sure it's possible to copyright art, flash and vids online. My gf is a medical illustrator and has numerous websites with flash vids of pancreas surgery drawings and various sweet illustrations she made and uploaded online for work, as well as webpage logos and such forth, all of which she has paid money and spent time to have copyrighted. Her firm also has numerous lawyers who deal with this stuff a lot and if she saw something on ebaums for whatever reason she would go after him in a heartbeat. Taking the "Scifi" off the end like ebaum did would be the same as photoshopping off her signature at bottom corner and pasting on ebaumsworld.com.
I agree with you, I'd def be wary. I think it's only a matter of time before he can get away with what he does. On the same note, I appreciate what he does- as long as it isnt stealing my stuff, hehe.
