Well for the past year I have seen my friends playing it and heard how awesome it is, but I have always kept myself away from it purely because i know I would get addicted and would probably ruin my life. Anyway, the other day I though "What the hell, I'll just give it a shot, see what all the rave is about". I played it for a few minutes and got addicted... It's a fucking drug.

Anyway, how many people play WoW here? And how many are addicted?

I got a 10 day free trial once... It's fun, but I don't see how people can find it addicting. I also don't see why people would pay $100 a year or whatever to play it.

I have been playing for over a year now. I have made tons of chars, but only have one 60. I keep getting sick of it, but a few days later I come back and make a new character and get hooked all over again. I have about twenty level 20-50s.

It sucks.

Half-way through leveling you'll say "this character's boring." And you'll make a new one. Then it'll keep happening until you keep one character until you get to 60.

But seriously the game sucks.

I started playing like last week, and.. yeah. I always heard my friends talking about it, so started playing, and was instantly addicted. I've made about 20 chars, all got to about level 15 then decided other races/classes were better. I've finally settled down with a Dwarf Paladin on the Spinebreaker server, give me a /t if you play. Name - Zaladin.

Yeah I remember right before I started playing Ultima Online, I used to hate it. But then I tried it and I was addicted to it for several years. But after awhile and all the bugs, patches, and updates...it gets alittle old. Same old thing for the exception of a few changes. I ended up quitting a few months ago. Might start back up later..just needed to take a break from it.

Ditto for me. Quit in Feburary though. Still sometimes miss it when I hear new content is coming out....fuck it though.

I quit a while back, just got bored. I reinstalled a few months ago and now I just play my rogue on raid nights. We do Ony and full MC runs on Saturday nights. Takes us about 3 or 4 hours to clear MC including Rags. We're doing pretty good in Blackwing Lair as well. We're up to Ebonroc, just working out our strats.

i played for like a month, then after i got my mount the game died for me.

Same here, I bought it to see what all the hype was about and after I hit level 40 I realized that this game is boring and the majority of its players are retarded teenagers. Never buying another MMORPG again.

WoW was so gay and "PC" too. Someone had the name Babystealer and they made him change his name. Everyone complains about everything. A GM disbanded a guild because it was called "CHINA FARMA". My friend was ganking people in RR and a GM took control of his character and dropped him in the middle of the ocean... The "raid instances" require you to sit down for 48318413 hours to do it. You have to be in a guild that is "elite/filled with fags" to do raid instances.

And then the funnest thing that they had, town raids, were ruined by the fucking honor system, which DK's did absolutely nothing because people would still kill lowbies in RR and Darkshire. Battlegrounds got boring and stupid.

Yeah, I play WoW .. I really should have quit by now, but im in one of the best guilds on the server. We are on the Twin Emps in AQ40, only 2 other guilds are on them, and only 1 has beat them. I only play it to raid, the game is boring in every other aspect but raiding.

i played since about release to January of this year. It was a fun game, but it has become too much like EQ (apparently blizzard hired some ex-eq developers) for me to ever want to go back. I had two lvl 60s, had BWL on farm status, and then just stopped playing. I realized that my characters werent mine, and that i had wasted a year of my life on something that i was basically renting--no matter how much id tell myself i wasnt addicted, playing more than 3-6 hours a day is definetly addicted and not "casual" as they say. The only time i truly enjoyed playing the game, was from June-July of last year when my UD rogue was a fresh 60. Now it's just pathetic to PvP because everyone has god gear and those that dont just get steamrolled. I'm not gonna say people shouldnt play the game, but if the perfect saturday night for you consists of grabbing a 6-pack and some chinese food for a long night in MC/BWL/AQ, you might want to rethink where youre going in life.

Lots of people, if they paly right, can sell their characters at the height of the games popularity.

My friend rose through the ranks and became an awesome warlock on our server. He was in one of the best guilds, and had epics out the wazzooo, had everything he needed. Eventually he sold the character for $2000 on eBay. He never expected that much, but the auction kept rising. I guess thats a bit of a bonus right?

If you buy the game it comes with a 10 day trial that you can give to one of your friends. Get one of your friends to buy it, and use the trial. There are other ways to get trials, but I'm not sure exactly what you do.

Anyway, I've never played WoW. I only have enough time in my life for one MMORPG, and that would be FFXI. Suffice to say that I am, in fact, rather addicted to the game. It is seriously underrated, though, which is sad because it's a really wonderful game.

I would never delete my characters, I've worked way too hard getting them to where they are now. Seems like a waste of time to some people, but not me. :) And also, I don't feel like it's a waste of money, not at all.

EDIT 2: evil mittens and anyone else that has quit, come back, they added weather and it is the shiznit in Un Goro, Winterspring, and STV.

I baught the game, played it for 30 minutes, uninstalled it and never played it again, i don't get it, i don't think i want to get it because i was addicted to diablo 2 LOD for 2+ years of my life. Its not too late to quit, just keep telling yourself you suck.

I was addicted for a while got to 57 then just quit and I haven't played since...I mean it was fun but the grind to 60 sucked. That game is like crack for my friend though he had full stormrage when I quit like 3 and a half months ago...dunno what he has now.

Oooh ahh, levels 1-40 are so cool, you get to explore and shit. 40-60 i just wanted to get to endgame. First 60, eventually got him to rank 10. Nothing left to do so i rolled another character. Got her to 60 and rank 9, started getting bored with the game, so i dust off my first char and venture into MC. I got my Tier 1 "set" and started liking the game again. After 4 months of MC we moved to BWL. I soon realized that it's an endless grind, and the amount of time needed to get anywhere in that game is just tremendous. So i sold off all of the stuff on my characters and gave the shit to my guild, and then logged out in the Outlands. Havent played since. The end.

Got a 60 warrior on Blackrock, then I realised that there are about 10x too many warriors on my server so I never got to raid. Now I'm leveling a priest up so I have the power, not the other fuckers! Everyone listens to priests we rock.

Oh yeah, my first char was a Pali, but Pali's do suck so I only got him to 52 before saying fuck it.
