you should refer to wikipedia. That can be your warning. it has a list of screamers and pranks:

but jingle bells was the first one to get me. to get used to the screamers, you should check out the first page in the screamers thread in the flash animations section, look at the pictures and set them as the background image. I got used to many of the screamers.

Its real easy to beat a screamer by turning your sound down/off, at least thats what i do.

I keep the volume at a reasonable level that still has the volume on.

I had a bad experience with screamers because I got pranked by one and it scarred me for a while. Now I just look at them and laugh.

Nah I like screamers. Even though i know its a sceam, i turn off all my lights and put the volume up high.
