Is it just me, or do others believe that countries opposing the war now, and opposing American views, calling us cowboys and gung hos will, after the war is over, kiss our asses again. When ever another country is in trouble, America has been there to save their butts. We saved the French several times (WW1, WW2, and vietnam), we saved the Germans from their own leader, and we have always offered support to countries fighting for their own well being. But when we do it for our self, everyone of our supposedly "allies" turn their back on us in exchange for maybe an election win (germany) or to try to be a international power (france).

you're one sick bastard. you don't know that without the french showing up at the last possible minute during the revolutionary war america would have lost, besides they did it for their own interests. Britian back then was, like iraq an oppressive government which maintained power through fear.

I agree, Stepping in the middle east was a huge mistake, because now all the assholes and morons are stepping out of their dog house to bark.
I knew a couple years ago if we were to get involved then one side or the other would retaliate, and those middle eastern fuckers don't stop ... They are fucking crazy, and now they are going to be like little fucking leeches, it's not hard to put cyanide in our water systems, or whatever.
I hope to God that this whole thing gets taken care of, and we're not stupid enough to start economic warefare, and social warefare between eachother, because this is the time when we have stick together we're brothers and sisters, even if we do think our neighbour is a moron, i guess u just gotta laugh and give him/her a pat on the back and brush it off, instead of hating hating hating, cuz thats what they want.
Don't turn into those crazy fuckers who don't listen to anybody.
Don't be their product.

Also, remember without the French your country would never have been made.
WRONG. At the most, the naval fleet of France destroyed some supply ships that were headed to supply british troops.
It may have taken another year at most, but the USA was destined to happen. The revolutionary war was 99% land based. France gave NO substantial ground forces, just naval support.

WRONG.
Most of the gunpowder for American armies was provided by France. France also commited thousands of ground troops.

Also, you make it seem as if the commiting of Naval forces by France was a small thing. Britian, at the time, had the largest and most powerful navy. The French navy played a major role in warding off the British. Without their Navy, America would have been extremely vulnerable at sea.
From 1778 to 1783, France provided the Americans with large sums of money, immense amounts of equipment, about one-half of America's armed forces, and a powerful navy.

Once again, get your facts straight.

ooooo SHOT DOWN!!!
hell yea the french helped us, but that was 200 years ago. times change, people change, and (suprise suprise!) countries change. france has tied themselves to a corrupt, cruel country ruled by a ruthless dictator. sounds a lot like WWII and Hitler. if france is going to ally themselves with Iraq, then fuck them we're not gonna lose a lot (that's been proven a lotta times by now look in some of the other posts), they're the ones that are gonna get screwed over. i'd also like to point out that in the civil war, lincoln and jefferson davis (the president of the confederacy for those who don't know) both suspended the writ of habeas corpus, throwing people in jail without trial in order to try to win the civil war. we need to do the same now by leaving france out of the UN. they are holding us back (or at least trying) from making the world a fair and free place.

"When ever another country is in trouble, America has been there to save their butts."
Are you joking? Lets get our references to history straight, America was a late bloomer in WWI and WWII...If my memory serves me correct the Second World War started in 1939 with countries like Britain, France, Canada, and australia forming the alies fighting Hitler. The states didnt want to get involved in "Europes war". It was only after the attack on pearl harbor you got the balls to fight. Further more, France wasnt saved in vietnam, they were doing the smart thing and pulling out while the US got bogged down for years in a bloody war.
The french may be a bunch of pussies known for surrendering, but it takes balls to stand up to the US and face the economic consequences.

hahahah i think its interesting that you note that america only started fighting after pearl harbor. you kow why i think that is funny? because it shows yoru complete ignorance. did you know that we supported the british people before we actually declared war? we sent american pilots to help fly missions to defend britian. yes we were not involved in full scale war, but it was something.
so there, please think before you write!

ok there william, the point is the United States of America did not participate in the war until 1941. No American army devisions were fighting, no american air forces helping to win the battle of britain. While some americans opted to join the british and canadian forces fighting, and american industry was selling arms there was no war declaration, which means they sat on the side lines until they were attacked. Same dilly in 1914... america did not join the fight until 1917 leaving their allies hung out to dry for 3 bloody years of fighting. So thats how america has been there for every other country eh?
